Makeshift pawl adapter for butterfly selector rats..

Got a decent butterfly selector ratchet for the collection. When I opened it up and watched it under load I could see the pawl was so worn that only half of each tooth was meshing.
As you can see in the pics, pawls for the butterfly selector ratchets are different from late 60's to early 90's teardrop ratchets.
I took a brass wood screw, filed it to make an adapter and it worked.
Has anyone done this?
I'm really pleased that it works so well.

Thanks all.
I know it's not a part that would be seen or needs tight tolerances but if I could I would've used proper brass stock. You know, just because.
