I have been searching for a good old school Clausing Drill press on ebay lately, there was one I got for a decent price, but it's a step pulley drill press with a single phase 1/2 horsepower motor on it. (Clausing 1756)
THEN, I found one for sale, also on ebay at EKU in Kentucky that was a variable speed with a three phase motor on it. I got it for a pretty decent price after all is said and done. (Clausing 1673)
So now, I believe I have the parts to make the drill press that I want. The floor mount and column from drill press one, the table and drill head from drill press two, then the single phase motor from drill press one.
So now that the plan is layed out, I'd like to see any Clausing drill press rebuilds as I'd like to go through it before I start using it... Then sell the remaining step pulley drill press with the three phase motor on it to try to recoup some of the money I put out on the two drill presses...
If anyone has any advice or rebuilds or anything, I'd love to hear what you have to offer...
Thanks
