Making a door stopper for my workshop

Here's a simple little project that was inspired by some "beach combing" I did with my kids on a recent holiday. We found an old fishing float on the beach, and being a fan of all things nautical (we do live more than 70 miles from the sea!) I thought it would make a nice door stopper for one of the external doors on my workshop. No step by step pictures- it's pretty self-explanatory. I had some 10mm dia copper round bar so I decided to drill and tap an M10 female thread in the float/ buoy. I then filled the buoy with some sand- a slow job given the small diameter of the hole! I cut a matching M10 thread on the copper dowel. I cleaned both threads before applying a small bit of rapid epoxy to both threads, screwing the plug in. When the epoxy was cured I cut the dowel flush and filed it flush with a hand file. A piece of rope found on the same beach finished this small project off. I like it and more importantly my wife loves it- it's practical in use and when not in use it make a nice garden ornament!
