I'm trying to figure out if i need to add a blower to the front of the boiler. I'm trying to keep this a simple build but adding a blower and an aquastat I can control if off of a thermostat, correct?? What else would I need?

I would add the draft fan. Also look for one with a flap that closes off the opening or it may thermosiphon the draft. With a draft fan and aqua stat you have much better control of you water temperature.

Ok thank you. The aquastat so remember looking at were outrageous in price, but I remember a coworker mentioning he replaced his for his OWB for around $15. Any particular things to look for when buying an aquastat? Or any suggested sites?

Ayuh,.... The aqua-stats I use are Honeywell, type L6006A, with adjustable set points, 'n limits,...

Don't remember what they cost,...
Got 'em from my Bud at Sid Harvey,...

One on the top back of the tank controls the pumps, one on the top front of the tank controls the draft, 'n blower,....

Ya gotta buy the aqua-stat wells separately,...

To late now. But you should have insulated the tank for thermal storage. And added a heat exchanger into your wood stove. That way you only need to do a few burns a day.

Simular to the GARN boilers.
