Ok, this is my first thread on my two car garage...up until yesterday it wasn't much of anything to even post pictures of. :(

But I've gotten a lot of work done, and yesterday was finally able to get a final coat of paint on about 1/3 of the garage. Since I have so much stuff/****, I can only do a section at a time.

I have plans (and a permit now) to build a 10 x 15 lawn/storage shed. So hopefully can have that done over the summer to get the lawn stuff out of the way!

Here is what it looked like not long after moving in...dark and dingy.

One of the first things I added were the shop lights and ceiling fan.

Then I pulled off the paneling and put in new outlets and insulation.

I have also been picking up metal storage cabinets, when I can find them cheap!

I made these custom storage racks for the wasted space above the garage door. They worked out great!

Over the past few weekends I have been working on drywall and finally got to paint for the first time this past weekend.

And a shot from outside the garage when I finished painting Sunday night.

Still have to finish around the windows, a little bit of drywall and paint the rest of garage.

I know it's not much, but it's progress. With any luck I will have it organised enough to put the truck (68 C10 SWB) in there next weeken, while I finish the rest of the garage.

Looking good. I see a few of the "toys"...nice cars. I for one appreciate that stuff as I have everything from cars, boats, and planes.

Yes...it's all about making what you have work! (until you have more..lol) I moved up from a cramped 1 car to the two car. But unfortunatly lost my storage for lawn stuff at the same time.

Itch...yes I managed to collect a few RC "toys"...haven't had much time for them in a while to busy with everything else. Most of them are "vintage" from the 80's and 90's. ;-)

Nice. I'm on the hunt for some cabinets like the ones in pic 6.

Re: Making due with a 2 car garage...(update)

Well I'm finally making some progress and getting things organized. Hopefully by this Sunday I will have it clean enough to get the pickup in.

The rest of the drywall work and painting will have to wait, got my sons wedding in less than two weeks and have a bunch of family coming in.

I also picked these up from work, not being used anymore in the stock room. The two door cabinet is a "Cole Steel" its built pretty well.

I also came to the realization that its not that I have too much stuff...just that I don't have enough room! ;-)

Looks too darn good!

I'm in full agreement here. Quite a few of us have wayyy too many "hobbies". Or maybe we just like to get things done, knowing we CAN do it OURSELVES. ;)

Like wood work, to metal work, auto work, home improvement-including electrical, plumbing, heating, etc.

I'm not cheap, I just don't have any money!!

littletoes, your right. If I can do it myself...I do! There's just not enough time to get it all done when "I" want. :)

Got some more done this evening, should be able to get the truck in tomorrow (a day early!) Which is good, because I now have my son's project in the back yard because he blew out the bottom end.

Cabinets are up, and I organized my work area...

I also picked up two of these automatic towel dispensers from the local "Restore" store, for only $9.

But I still have to get all this back in and make it organized. (at least until I can get my shed for the lawn stuff)

Your work has paid off........Just a little effort goes a long way.....I got to get off my lazy **** and do the same........A co-worker broke a timing belt tensionor on his 95 Elcipse and it needs a valve job....Problem is he already did this at 125k and now it has 175k so the shop where he took says the bottom end needs to be rebuilt .......He landed up selling it as is for 800.00......Go figure......

I think the design of the house was changed slightly during construction:headscrat..and they ended up adding more to the garage area...that's the only thing I can figure. But I like having my boxes up on it.

As for my sons car...he is going to fix it. He just asked to store it over here..plus he'd have to use my cherry picker anyways!

Maybe its to keep the mud/snow contained so it won't run out to the walls and get stuff wet around the edge of the garage. I had thought of doing this, but decided against it ... figured I'd be tripping on it all the time.

Well I don't think we'll get much snow down here in Florida? lol :)

My son's car is actually an Eclipse, he already has a short block lined up from a friend.

As for the house..I have the original plans (got from the city) and it shows the interior wall originally going out to that edge. But I think they changed the layout and left the slab in the original configuration. I think that is also why I have that massive header board going through the garage.

Who knew? :lol_hitti You're not showing your location and my crystal ball must be on the fritz. I guess there's part of a palm-tree-like plant in one of the pictures - I should've guessed from that. It looks like you went to a fair bit of trouble to insulate the walls and door so I figured ...

btw - I like your RC collection. I count 11 on the shelves? Those yours? or your son's? It would be nice to have a display shelf for those when yer done!

slimpickins, yes the RC's are all mine. There is actually 12 real RC's and one Radio Shack one that I picked up at some point.

This is my pride and joy of the group though!
