I’m using a sloppy stage 2 cam, good valve springs and a 3000 stall converter with triple disk lockup. I replaced the slipping 4L60E with a built up 65E, so I could keep the all wheel drive without major surgery 4L80E swap. The cammed 5.3 should be fine without killing too many drivetrain parts.

Haha, that might be a touch more than mild!

Those specs are close to my F13 cam in my Z28.

It will chop hard and sound good for sure! 65E should hold together fine as long as you can keep it cool.

Hi guys, I know I have been terrible about getting on here and giving any updates. The snow has melted so we are cleaning up the garage, finishing the new lawn, and other spring things. No awesome pics yet but I will keep you all posted. :3gears:

The Havanese/Bishon! The boys are ecstatic!

Sean,
Nice pictures!
The Northern lights are very cool!
When I was a kid, we lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for several years.
We would sometimes see them... always amazing!

Hey brother!

Good to see your still alive and kicking!

Looking at these photos you posted, truly beautiful wilderness man!

A part of me would love to live somewhere here.
The other part of me needs a 24/7 McDonald's within 5 minutes drive of my house (thank god!) because sometimes we are eating dinner at 11pm and nothing is open, and other times its 1am and I feel I need a coffee... there is something wrong with me aye! ha!
I wouldn't last a week living that remote! ha!

Rudi.

Hi guys I’m sorry I’ve been terribly delinquent at keeping up with this thread!

I’m still up to my usual tricks, and life has thrown us sone hurdles but we are persistent!

I’m having a big issue with my head porting guy not getting my heads done and if I pull them then it would be impossible to match the existing runners that aren’t ported. One of his customers sued him and then they settled and he got the work done for him. Meanwhile me the “buddy” hasn’t got my stuff even though I was WAY ahead of the guy who sued him.

It is what it is. My car is on the lift and I’ve resorted to other projects. I built a SBC 360” engine for a turbo and I’ve been rebuilding a 92 Chevy 2500 light duty 6 lug to receive it. It’s got a TBI 350, NV-4500 manual 5 speed overdrive heavy duty transfer case, solid 14 bolt 3.73 diffs. I bought it in December and I’ve already rebuilt the suspension brakes and steering with all new parts. I’ve also removed and sold off the stock TBI 350. I had a pro build a custom 3.5” stainless exhaust from the Y pipe. I lowered it 3” all around, and added bucket seats.

The new engine is a low budget forged internal 360” SBC with a GT-45 turbo and a Holley blow through carb.

At the moment I’m putting the truck on my trailer while I clean the engine bay remove the box and remove the box for surface rust removal etc. then I will install a scrap bare block for mock-up and pay a pro to weld the pipes from the turbo headers that face up and forward to feed the GT-45 turbo that will be placed close to where the battery is currently on the passenger side. Eventually the exhaust will be plumbed from the turbo down to the existing 3.5” exhaust. The plan is to get all this done before putting the good engine in. It’s not a restoration it’s still a beater but it’s gonna be a quick one! Today I ordered matching 15x10 wheels to mount slicks on for racing in 2WD and then for winter it can wear the current 16x8 all around

Big truck little truck lol! True 3.5” stainless exhaust with all mandrel bent curved welded in. It spat out the rear driveshaft on the way home from the exhaust shop and I had to drive it 3 miles home in 4x4 without the rear driveshaft. A bunch of T case fluid coated the underside for rust prevention F my life lol!

The boys are now 8 and 10 and I’m still married even after all my car projects and other shortcomings. bless her

3 different camshafts for 3 different engines.

1. Fairly mild Lunati cam for the turbo SBC
2. Pretty wild custom cam by Scotty Brown for the alum head twin turbo Buick
4. Very wild cam for a 13:1 compression Buick 350 race engine. No car yet for this but it could go into the Skylark at sone point. All flat tappet cams not rollers. If I have to convert an engine to a roller cam then I’ll use a modern engine instead.

Yes it was fun driving stick shift too! There is no engine in the truck at the moment I removed it last week but onward and upward let’s turbo this thing! But first I need to clean clean clean the engine bay and frame. It was literally a farm truck. Finding an heavy half 4x4 ext can fully loaded stick shift was not easy it took years. My example is an upward battle but I’m all in! Also my garage is a complete disaster.

I’ve got to put the Chevy truck into storage for a few months while I clean this place up! It’s embarrassing but we have to start somewhere!

I don't know why, but YouTube waved this in front of me this morning and it's quite pleasant!

I was pondering, "Is CN a Canadian railroad?" but then this guy started talking.

Good morning garage folks! I know I've been gone for a long time but I've been busy! I'm getting my garage cleaned up finally!

My white truck is still kicking! I've removed and sandblasted the front bumper, repainted both sides of the box white, and a few other items.

I've still got the stick shift 92 project but it is in storage with the engine removed. I've added this storage cube to my program. its a 2000 3500 Savana Van. Its insured and registered and it runs and drives. 6.5 Turbo Diesel, and I park it at my storage spot 5 minutes from the house. right now I have a whole stockpile of OBS sheet metal and spare car and truck parts to free up space in the garage at home.

Also I have this 95 GMC now as well:

Two engine builds on the go. Old school SBC with huge ported Dart heads and intake, fully machined block, all new parts, large cam.

Second SBC, TBI 350 engine with the heads, intake removed and sold off. Adding ported vortec heads, a dual plane alum intake and Aces 4 barrel EFI. Swapped to a roller cam, not rebuilding the rotating assembly as it ran perfectly before I tore it down. I'm self-porting the heads, but one was found to be cracked when it was hot tanked and magnifluxed so I'm hunting down another head. Cam specs.

Good to see you are still kicking around and making progress, are you still working in the oil industry up there? That Buick needs to see some road miles, when the snow melts get it out and get some videos for us. :)

Yup still oil and gas work! The engine is out of the Buick at the moment. It won’t go back together until the good engine is done.
