Sean, coming in a little late on the thread!

You'll love the 2500HD gasser...mine was on stock rubber and tuned with a custom 3.5" exhaust. I never hooked onto anything I couldn't run down the intestate at speed with. My biggest issue was the ride, but it was a super nice pickup.

Progress on the house... No garage doors yet, what the heck??? And my other issue is they put the natural gas line EXACTLY where the 2 post lift is going. I am having them fix that for free. I had them add 8 speaker wires in the wall, will make for a stealth booming stereo. We have hot and cold water in the garage. Right inside the house/garage man door is a sink too so no more messy hands in the bathroom. They still need to mud and tape the garage but first they need the insulated garage doors and heater hooked up. I hope the cold/moisture doesn’t damage the garage drywall??? Opinions???

Yes plans for lots of shelving and cabinets and a sturdy place to put engines and transmissions out of the way.

Yes it will be nice we will have 30 feet deep of parking space in font of the garage and we could also park 2 sideways behind them. There is no sidewalk, so that adds room. Our current house we have a sidewalk that limits the parking options.

I think as long as the drywall stays dry and you give the drywall time to equalize after the garage doors are installed and it's heated, it should be ok. Where you could run into problems is rushing the taping/finishing after the doors are in. I'd give it at least a week for the humidity levels stabilize in the garage/drywall before letting them start on the finishing.

I ended up deciding on a 4 post lift vs a 2 post... it is good for 9000 pounds and the reviews are good.

I use lifts every day and much prefer a 2 post, but I do a lot of wheel, suspension and brake work. I find the 2 post allows much greater access under the vehicle. A 4 post requires extra jacking mechanisms to lift the axles off the hoist and you still have to reach across the platforms to access around the wheel area. However, if extra parking is a priority, a 4 post can't be beat.

I had been going back and forth between the 2 and 4...

In the end it come down to layout of the garage and the location where I had planned to have the 2 post just really limited my work space layout. I am pretty happy now deciding on the 4 post it does have its disadvantages but it will be better for this layout.

Sean: best of luck with the home sales!! do people even show or look at homes when it's that cold? I know I would if I was looking for a home cause it sure would (if I could even handle that kind of cold) be easy to tell if there was any issues with heat loss and a few other things you can't tell when it's 70 degrees and sunny.

The snow is melting! Setup this cool winch setup, easy to move around to different vehicles.

Noticed a bouncy ride in the 2012 GMC so I swapped in Fox shocks. WAY better! Adjusted the air bags because I’m going to be pulling some heavy trailers. 20 psi in the bags gives me 46.25” rear height and 70 psi is 47.5”. The old shocks were About 3” too short so it was topping out hard. 3 of the 4 shocks I removed were shot.

Making some good progress with my little Chevy tracker! Very fun to drive on and off road. Went from 27” to 31” tall tires, 1 inch suspension spacers, 2 inch body lift, hitch receiver front and rear to mount a 8500 pound winch at either end. I’m adding a reciever hitch to the front of my white truck instead of a big bulky winch bumper. That way I can instal the winch on there too!

I also paid a guy to rebuild my car hauler trailer, it’s now WAY stiffer it was too flexy before!

The new house is almost done and we should be in by June 1st. Our current house is still for sale and we are getting lots of interest so I’m not worried about it selling.

As you can see the poor old blue trailer was not stiff enough, I found a guy to rebuild it. All we re used was the tounge and axles. It pulls great and is not much heavier than the previous version. I can mount a winch at the front in a receiver. The new ramps are really nice too.

6 foot long Ramps made from some scrap I had. This will make the ramps at a very shallow angle for easy loading. The trailer is setup with the axles further back because the front end of my car is so light that the previous trailer was lacking tounge weight. This new trailer pulls smoother empty too because of the added tounge weight.

I believe it’s 2x4 with 1/4” inch thickness but I could be wrong. I will check next time I’m looking at it. Yes the builder wants to put the doors in at the last minute to reduce the chances of them getting dinged up by the work crews.

June 1st is the move in date so we need to sell our current house before then to make it all work. The builder tried to get us to re sign papers to take the house feb 1st but we declined and stuck to the June 1st date to give us time to sell our current house. In return they are dragging thier heels and SLOWLY finishing it up.

Brought out the 75 after it slept for 6 months over winter. A few pumps of the gas and it fired right up in 3 seconds! I plan to drive it this summer so I found some wheels and tires for it. These are 15x8 Camaro wheels with 235/60R15 front and 295/50R15 rears. They will fill out the big wheel wells of the 75, test fit was a success.

The bald set (295/50R15 on 15x12) is for chassis dyno use on the Skylark to save the expensive sticky rubber.

I don’t know much about those trans ams, thanks! I looked it up and yes you are right they are from a special edition trans am! They didn’t look like much till I used some acid on them! Next I need to polish them.

Lots of work going on with the tracker. It’s working great on and off road. The frame and underside of the tracker are not rusty but the rockers trapped dirt and water and rotted out. I removed the rusty metal, drilled a bunch of 1/8” holes to give a texture and then chicken wire and Fiberglass to build it back up. Some bondo, sanding and rock gaurd and it’s cool. Next I will remove all the glue from the old trim and rock gaurd the lower half of the vehicle.

I just pressure washed the underside of the truck for about an hour, waited 12 hours. Went by hand with a wire brush and scrubbed the frame. Brush Painted on the POR15 and once it was dry I spray painted gloss black enamel paint over top. The only downside to por15 is it gets discoloured by the suns UV rays. So you need to paint over top of it.

For the rusty side steps I used an angle grinder with wire wheel to remove the rust and then POR15 and rock gaurd paint over that.

I got a bunch of por15 on my arms and it won’t come off for about a week. This paint is serious stuff! It seals the rust and stops it. It also sticks well to bare metal.
