I got this combo from Amazon for 190. I sold off 2 of my old ones to fund part of it.
This newer version comes with 2.o amp batteries/2.
The drills are excellent. Light, powerful 18 volt, fast charge, belt clip, nice soft case, easy
to grip . Way better than my old Dewalt 14 volt. The impact is super fast.I had never used one before. The only thing is that an impact drives so fast that it seems it must strip out a few threads on the way down.THe drill driver probably keeps the spiral wood threads intact and therefore more structurally sound. Thats what I would guess anyway.Yes/No ?. But the impact starts screws faster in OSB so that is nice. I would recommend this combo to anyone. I just hope
that the batteries last a long time.kick ***.

Yeah those are nice. A friend of mine has Makita drills. They are nicer than my Ryobi ones. If you squeeze the trigger part way, it should drive the fasteners more slowly?

You can pre-drill (using a bit) wood that's giving you trouble and then drive the fastener in with the impact.

That's what's nice about having 2 drills. Can keep a bit in the drill for pre-drilling and then keep a torx or phillips drive bit in the impact for driving fasteners.

It takes a while to get the right touch for using an impact. When you do, you can time it to where you release the trigger a half second or so early so it uses the last bit of momentum to sink the screw rather than overdriving it. The drill in my green set kicks so much *** that I generally only use the impact for tasks it excels at, like driving long screws and lag bolts, and removing screws/bolts.
