So I was thinking about painting the man door in my garage something besides white. Any ideas? I'm not much of an artist but, this looked really cool to me. Not sure I could pull something like this off though. Any ideas?

You can put anything you want on it. There is a thread on here - somewhere - where the owner used a projector to thow an image of of the Michelin Man up on his garage wall then painted it.

Start thinking about what you'd REALLY like to see on that door and GO for it!!!!

A man door has a knob at the top and a knob at the bottom, but you can only operate one at a time. :bounce:

wtf is a man door?

The smaller one you can squeeze through but your car wont fit through :D.

Clutch I say go for it . There is or was a member here that did vinyl wraps for doors that were pretty kewl and you wouldnt have to have any artistic skills to put one of them up.

There are companies that make adhesive vinyl printed in huge sizes like they wrap cars for advertising. Perhaps make up a graphics...have it printed and apply to the door.

What paint skills? What you had a picture of could be made simple enough. There is black chalkboard paint at hardware or craft stores for the top half. Now you leave your own notes on functional blackboard.

Paint the bottom half red. Mount a fake drawer handle if you want. Or just Find aluminum trim strips for anything at hardware store and mount with glue or screws.

Print a copy of favorite tool chest manufacturer logo, cut it out, glue it on, clear coat over it.

I was always taught that they were refered to as a "grade door". I never heard them called "man doors" til I found G.J.

I've thought about putting the chalk board paint on a portion of the back of my door (smooth metal door) to use for making sketches, shopping lists, to do lists, etc.
