Hello! I've been on this board for a long time but am finally getting my first garage soon! My wife and I have been in a single story ranch with just a driveway for two years. Right now we are building a new house with an attached garage! All my life i've worked on stuff at home out of my trunk or a shed...needless to say, i'm pumped!

Its only an 18x20 garage.. We are going to be parking my wifes car and my cherokee in it, so it'll be tight! but with some careful planning it'll work! i'm a welder and will be getting my own tig machine, so i'll be making a spot to do some side work in there, a spot for a tool chest, and space for all the other ****! haha. it will be a slow thread for now, we are supposed to be moving in late september/early october. it ***** to wait but that means i've got a lot of time to plan things! been researching and have a good to-do list once we move! here are the only pictures i've got now, enjoy!!

Congrats on the new place! The best advice I got here when I started poking around is check all the single car garage threads. They tend to have the space optimization dialed in. Lots of great ideas from those!

If you could live with parking 1 car in the drive you would have a lot more space in the garage.

I'm planning some fold down benches, some above the door storage, and some hoping and praying haha.

If we only had two cars that'd be perfect. My cherokee is my fun car that's about to get torn down and built. Her car is going in the garage and my daily is going to stay outside. It's gonna be tight... but it'll work!
