I'm just tossing this out there to see what response I get...

Does anyone know of a mandrel bending shop (maybe smallish) that can custom bend aluminum tubing and not charge +/- $500 for set-up?

For custom I have not. They look pretty big for just making a few pieces...

What do you need specifically? Most places I've bought from have no problem with even a couple of pieces at a custom angle. (Or is it something with multiple bends)

Global tech engineering is another good place that I have used.

would just like to have a bunch of simple angles in the box to custom / design and fabricate...

say 4 each of 5°, 7 1/2°, 10°....

My local shop has gotten to busy and does not seem to want my business and Columbia River Mandrel says it might be ~ $500.

Alu. is a pita to bend. It has to be annealed or condition O in order to be bent or,it breaks.
$500.00 set up is a bit steep.:wtf: Usually an hour set up is what is charged. Unless you have to change the dies 10 times for 10 bends.

All true.

I think I have found an answer. The son has taken over the business and he [Matt] seems eager to work and sounds like an excellent welder, bender.
