Anyone ever use one of these lift attachments that bolt on to the manifold where the carb. sits? I am thinking of using one to lift a fully dressed Ford 289 and am a little hesitant to put a complete engine out there hanging on a carburetor manifold base. What do you think?

On metal intakes should never be a problem. I would not use one on a composite (plastic) one at all.

I've used them on the 289. Make sure the bolts are tight. I use hardened nuts/bolts or grade 8.

never an issue. ive made up a chain with plates on the end. i put one bolt in the back head and one bolt in the front head. allows to tilt the engine more than a 3 hole style carb plate.

just make sure you use good bolts and run them down tight with your finger. dont torque them, you dont want to gall the threads in the manifold if its aluminum. if there are already carb studs in the manifold, use them.
