I saw these while out at lunch today, had to take a pic. They would do nicely by the garage.

I've been meaning to see if the local welding supply sells tanks that haven't passed certification for just that purpose! Haven't gotten around to it, though...

Last spring I saw a set of them when I was out in Seattle - great note to them!

Steel SCUBA tanks make good chimes too. i am cooking an idea that uses one old tank and two old forged Porsche rims. The rims ring very well.

I cut one down once for a guy at work to use as a "dinner bell" at his cabin in the woods.

Old metal fire extinguishers also fit into the large wind chime projects well. I have a few that I have been saving just for this purpose, but abandoned the idea when someone pointed out that the dogs will be barking at them every time that they ring, just like the door bell...... :(

I don't know....I think it may be a Man Law that any kind of wind chime, even if it was made out of machine guns, cannot be considered manly. :)

next thing you know, there will be a post on "manly potpourri" for the garage ...

Does that fall under the manly aromatheropy catagory?

Candles scented like sawdust, metal grindings/welding, gunpowder

Hey...I could have just stumbled onto a new market! Come on guys, let's hear it. Who'd buy 'em for their garage/shop?

How about a sizzling bacon scented candle with authentic popping pockets of grease?

I have been working on WD40 scented cologne – CK-WD

That reminds me of the guys over in the gun forums. Some guys flip over Chanel #5, but they go for Hoppes #9!

TapMagic is pretty nice too: cinnamony.

Dang, we are WEIRD.

I was just thinking about a burning rubber one!

Or racing gas!

Both are sure to keep women out of the garage.

I'm with the ManLaw guys on the windchimes though.

I hate Wind chimes. Why would I want to listen to some annoying clanging when I 'm trying to relax? I've seen some made out of electrical conduit. Sounds like a freaking cowbell..

I don't care for chimes myself. I have a neighbor that has some, usually I can't hear them as he lives behind me. I might consider putting these behind the garage just for him though. You know, since he likes them so much. Just trying to be a good neighbor and all.

It's agreed then "Man Law" no wind chimes. Lets have a beer

I concur with the "man law"

Only sound dealing with wind is when I break-wind!

I think if you arranged them uh...in a particular order...it would look pretty manly...
