Wanted to give a big "THANKS!" to tooljunkie in MD. A few days ago, he saw my classifieds ad for a small broken Snap-On wrench I had for sale for $2. Said how much shipped to his town in MD? I replied that it was a small world, I would be there on Saturday, meet me in this parking lot and I'll bring the tool. Anyways, we meet up, I get $2 and he gets his wrench. He then asks, "are you looking for any specific brand tools?" I said I'm a Craftsman guy, but I like SO, Proto, Plvmb and I'm trying to build a set of Williams/Fairmount machinist's wrenches. He says will you be here a while? Sure. He says, I might be right back.
20 minutes later I'm having lunch in a local place with some friends, he comes in with a paper bag and a few tools in his hand. Says, "here ya go". I offered to pay him for the tools, and he said don't worry about it, glad I can use them. After lunch was over, I more closely looked over the tools. Got a B-51 Williams 3/8 ratchet, an older Craftsman 3/8" ratchet, an Cman 1/2" extension, a new Cman socket, 6 misc Cman wrenches (some new with the sticker on them), a Fairmount wrench and a tiny Williams machinist's wrench. I was speechless!
Needless to say, I sent him a PM - I owe him some trading material and want to know what he wants me to look for, for him. I feel obligated to get him some more tools for what he gave me. Just wanted to say a public THANKS! for the tools! tooljunkie is a great guy, thought he could use some recognition.
Oh, and I didn't post this so the world beats a path to his door looking for free tools. I just thought I needed to thank him, let GJ users know that I had the opportunity to meet a world-class GJ member on Saturday.
