Hi all

Looking for a durable coating for an outdoor porch. Covered, aside from wind driven rain.

A marine type deck coating?

Any ideas?

Coated 2 years ago with Messmers. Prior to that i am not sure what was used.

Not sure of the wood species.

Thanks for everyones insight.

I used ReadySeal for some shutters I built. Penetrates well.
No idea for a wood deck.
Son in law used Penofin on their deck. I think its similar to ready seal.

ReadySeal was easy to apply with a pump up sprayer, not sure about the penofin though.

Some prefer one over the other. There are reviews on both.
I think whatever you use will have to be repeated ever so often.

Thanks cody. I appreciate the reply.

I used the messmers on cedar siding and its held up great after two coats.

It was great on the porch, and still is in the areas that dont get wind driven rain/heavy foot traffic. Ie: beads water like wax.

I feel most products will just need annual reapplication - unless i find a marine grade epoxy / poly - something slip resistant.

Ill keep searching and explore some marine forums. Thought the flooring suppliers guys would have some insight.

Thanks.
