I disagree and like it that you are doing something different.

Not to take anything away from your work, but how many builds do you have that are slammed and on 24x12s? They all start to look the same.

CSP.....I think you have a very good point and quite frankly I have been enjoying this build because it is something different. It is nice to take a car like this and restore it to its original condition. Bob is doing an incredible job on this car. The other part I like about this is the parts are available and they fit. The customs are so time consuming and expensive and are really a labor of love.

Isn't that same with all of us? We each have a build style or "look" that turns our crank, and build most of our stuff that way. I know I am guilty of it, on Hot Rods and trick daily drivers.

BOATMARK.........everything I build has air ride and big wheels:lol:

Gotta say that this is one of the coolest threads on GJ. Love the shop, esp the c10. Great work.

Note to self.....Pukeballs, you have one creative name and one I will not soon forget!! Thank you for the compliment. Keep watching because one day the C10 is going to get done. I would imagine we will be hitting it hard in about 30 days. The suburban and Malibu will be done by then and we can spend some time on it.

Nice job on the build of the shop, house and your inspiration to raise the bar for a workable shop with drop dead **** looks!:scared: keep up with the hot rod dreams! and make sure you give your wife the time she needs also I think it is awesome that she will come out and work like that you my friend are .LIVING THE DREAM! keep it up:rocker:

E.rodz........you are one creative dude. I have been watching your thread and you do some awesome work. I wished we were closer because we would be building something different together. Keep up the good work:thumbup:

The 502 went in today with a little bit of a fight. The biggest problem is when you have a freshly painted motor, firewall, and frame. It is hard to manhandle when everything is pretty.........solution was to remove the ****** and install it after the motor was in. The big block fills up the space nice in this mid size car and it looks beautiful.

malibumotor.jpg

Bob's wife Deanna had the look of horror on her face when I told her I put her on my garage thread and guys from all over were looking at it:lol_hitti She was back today and ended up jumping in to bolt the motor mounts to the frame. Bob and I could barely get under the car..........I told Bob I was replacing him with his wife in the shop. He just laughed. She is one heck of a worker!

You should be careful about offering to trade out work for accommodations at the garage. I can picture people lining up down the street and camping out just to wait their turn! :lol_hitti :willy_nil

Claude, we have been hitting it pretty hard around here. Bob has been putting in 45 hours a week and I have been putting in at least 20 hours. Right now is out of season for our business so I have been leaving at 1 PM and heading to the garage and work until 5:30. Two nights a week I have boxing, one night drum lesson, and other night I play drums for our church. I literally grab quick shower and immediately leave for my extra curricular activities. I squeeze every minute I can in the garage. I also spend all day Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday. I keep myself pretty booked up.

Slow down there, I put in the first reservation.;)
Besides, I'm still hoping Mrs. IGO2XS will reconsider my offer to be adopted. :D

Hey local guys, I am on Proctor Road just 1 mile east of interstate 75. If you are going to be in the area give me a shout. We are always hanging out in the garage and your always welcome.

hi IGO2XS, i was daydreaming about garages and stumbled across this forum, then i saw your garage, AND you are pretty local. Your garage and house is AMAZING to say the least. I signed up for this forum, just so I could possibly come by and see your garage one day, I'm in Ruskin, which is about an hour north of you, but I go down to bradenton and sarasota pretty frequently, thanks for sharing your amazing build

Yes, I talked to her today about wearing a special outfit:rocker: and she then offered to knock a couple of my teeth out. you never mess with a girl who knows how to bolt and engine on a frame.

Dude, I would work a day in that garage with or without overnight accommodation!:rocker::bowdown:

well.......we would insist you take some time to rest.......but thank you!!

sorry about no pictures today. I will take some tomorrow on the Camaro. Oh, by the way Bob fired up the Camaro today!! Got the motor full of fluids, got the wiring in, stuck a hose from the fuel pump in a can of gas and she started. :rocker:

It was a frustrating day for me today on the Chevelle. Starting with the motor this whole install is going to need a shoe horn to get everything in this small engine bay. I had a nice set of ceramic shorty big block headers I thought would fit. After removing brake lines, brake booster, etc ect they came 1/2 inch from fitting. Wouldn't you know I would start of the side that fit so when I got to the driver side I got the big let down. I really didnt want to buy another $500 set of headers:sad: but I have no choice....... there are just a few companies who build BB headers for a 64 Chevelle.
I also had a nice billet aluminum pulley system for the front of the motor (it came with the 502 when I bought it) but because the power steering box is inside the frame it wont fit because of the power steering pump location. I am finding out these early Chevelle's need a mid mount power steering pump. For now I am going to get a March mid mount pulley bracket and an alternator bracket to get it running. I had dreams of an air conditioning install and some shiny brackets but I will now be happy to get it together and running.

what's cool about this forum, is there is a "view all" button, so i just went through all the pics again. I saw most of them the other day, but i did miss a few.

pretty much whenever you're at a menu, or even your control panel, the other forums that I go on frequently say

(1,2, Last page)

but this one goes (1,2, last page, view all)

The problem there is loading time.
For a thread this size, it would take a week to load all the pics if it never timed out.:(
I have it set on 40 posts per page and that's pretty much all my internet speed can handle.
Even at that, there is 17 pages.

i guess not every place is up to "speed" hehe, yea it doesn't take hardly anytime where I'm at. I can't even look at all the pictures faster than it takes to load

I for one wouldn't mind seeing some pics from IGO2XS posted on the "Let's see your Toolbox" thread

Or better still, right here in this thread, so that we can keep all the pics from this truly magnificent garage in the one, easy to find, place

WOW Mark, 300,000 views on this thread in under 5 months - that could possibly be a record here at GJ!

It appears your thread "goes to excess", matching the member name you picked :)

Keep up the great work.
