Thank you

Thank you so much. I keep on saying this is a lot more than I ever expected. Guess me being a little crazy has kept me going. LOL

After reading through only 1/8th so far of this thread, I have come to realize something very true,

I hate my life! I need to find more ways to make some serious cash so I can afford even half of this garage.

Bravo!

Best looking garage I have ever seen or imagined.

I just returned after a week in Las Vegas at the SEMA show. It is definitely the show of all shows for car guys. Any product one might imagine was on display and some of the car builds were just over the top. I had many items on my list but one of them was a serpentine drive system for the 6.2 LT-1 i have in the car. GM sells a drive for it but there is no way the A/C compressor will work with the SRIII frame as its to large. The alternator on the GM sits high and wide on the passenger side so its a problem too. Pace Performance offers a drive but they don't have any diagrams available yet. I spoke with March Performance and I have agreed to take my LT-1 to their facility in Naples, Fl and they say they will build their new system off my motor. Seems like they didn't want to buy a motor to develop the system.

The back of the car is finally roughed in. I am very happy with the way it turned out. There will still be a black anodized trim ring around the exhaust. We narrowed the rear bumpers and if you notice we angled the kick downs from the bumpers slightly inward so they match the angle of the body lines in the back.

I also purchased a new toy I think you guys might like. I have measured lots of wheels in my life but when I saw this tool I thought it would be very valuable for measuring for custom wheels. Lets face it they are not cheap and I like to get the wheels as large as possible. The tire you want for the vehicle is attached to this devise and it can be moved to change the backspace measure. It was not cheap at almost $1000 but it works with wheels from 18" to 24" in diameter and up to 15 inches wide.

That's a pretty neat tool

Car is coming along great!

Thank you!

I've seen shops on TV that had shows use them but didn't know the were a $1k:drool:

There are other wheel tools that are cheaper......maybe $500 range. I like this one because it has 3 points of contact with the tire instead of just two. i feel like it centers the tire more accurately.

Mark,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

WHO makes that wheel tool? I need one of those.

Thanks!

I know this is only pictures of exhaust pipe. Its just amazing how long it takes to do one of these stainless exhaust systems. All mandrel bend stainless pipe cut and tig welded.....$1500 in materials......labor......priceless!!

Thanks! I Found them online. Going to have to build a few cars to pay that sucker off! Funny thing is, I got sucked into this thread for the cars but now I'm going though it again because were getting ready to build on 3.5 acres west of Fort Collins.

We're flying down & staying on Anna Maria Island 11/22-26. Any chance you guys will be at the new shop on Friday the 25th or does everyone get a long weekend?

The exhaust work looks flawless. Where do you get your mandrel tubing from? It looks like a 3" collector on the header reduced down to true dual 2.5" with a magnaflow X-Pipe. My buddy Harrison in Jacksonville, FL (H&S Pipe Works) has a slick mandrel bender.

BTW I was at SEMA as well. What an amazing show!

I would normally be there on the 25th but I am taking my wife up to see her mother in Blairsville, GA. Anna Maria is only 45 minutes from me.

I get most of it from Stainless Works. Your right on the money........3" collectors reduced and then 2.5" pipe. We don't have a mandrel bender so we buy the bends and cut them to size.

Nice exhaust work.
That kind of detail is even more interesting than just a pic of the finished car.

There is a lot of work that goes into these cars!!

Hope all you guys are doing well. I have been storing more cars in the Monster Garage and thought you would enjoy this one. Does anyone know what this is? I have been driving it the last few days and getting lots of attention.

Mark, I was going to guess a kit car but that's not an accurate name for that work of art. It is available as a kit or complete car.

Tibnender 66, I think the single 'L' spelling is correct but this isn't a restored Delahaye. You can buy the car for $300,000 or buy the bits for less and build it yourself. Of course, you need to love working on fiberglass.

Right now it is sitting in my garage and awaiting the Mecum Auction in Kissimmee in January. I will be there with the car and the owner. You can find the details of the car at mecum.com. It is titled as a 2004 so we had to install catalytic converters and some other pollution control devices because Mecum requires the owners to sign a pollution statement when selling.

Although I do not post as much as I used to GJ is my favorite place to show and tell. I always release happenings here before I do any place else. I am happy to announce I have taken a deposit on my 63 Corvette "The Punisher" and it has been sold. Almost a year ago I had it at the Mecum auction shortly after it was done and I chose not to sell. Hind sight is 20/20 and I probably should have been a little less greedy on the car as two other very serious buyers showed up after the sale. However, since then the car has appeared in many shows, has sold many jobs, and has appeared on the cover of Vette Magazine a few months ago. It was a hell of a lot of money to be sitting around as I did not drive it but it has been fun. I pretty much pulled out all of the stops and ended up creating a pretty bad *** car.........now, some of it was luck but most of it was intended. We are currently making some small changes to the car for the guy who purchased it.....younger guy from California. It should be leaving the shop in the next 3 to 4 weeks. What next.........I have dreamed of building a Cuda, a custom semi, and a few other crazy ideas. LOL. I really don't have the time or the guts right now to do anything else. That feeling could change at any minute.

The 69 firebird is in the queue. Luckily I have a patient customer....we are starting on it after the first of the year. I will be posting vette pics in a minute.

Congrats on the sale! A custom semi - especially a vintage one would be the cats ***!:shocking:

Lowered, matte grey, sorry I have to do black wheels like the vette!!

I would personally love to see what you could do with a custom semi!!

I am really thinking about it. Wife thinks i am crazy.

As the car rolled out of the booth today I couldn't wait to show you guys the pictures of the car painted........finally. I am know for a long time it was going to be red.....I just wasn't sure how red it was going to be. I pretty much waited until the week we were painting it to decide. I got my PPG rep over and told him I wanted RED......not orange or any other shade. We ended up painting it red, adding a red tinted mid coat, and then clear coating it. It is almost electric an I can't stop from taking pictures of it. I hope you like it.

Mark, I think it's red:thumbup:

I'm partial to red vehicles, looks great, with the shine it's looks like paint is an inch thick.

So day I'll get by your place there.

yes guys it is definitely red.....and it does look like you can take a bite out of it.

Oh, I love that RED! Was it a custom mix or a known factory mixed color?

It is a known formula........we just added two layers of the mid coat and it changed it quite a bit.

It's always a pleasure to get an inside look at what you're up to Mark. That color combo with black trim should be awesome.
