I just bought a 5" vise from the local swap meet and was looking for some info on it. I will get some pics when I am back from travelling for work.
Its is a yellow painted 5" non swivel vice, with the name MARSLAND cast into it, as well as Made in Canada cast into it. The casting itself looks identical to a Record, as we compared it to a 6" Record that was also for sale at the swap meet. Even the Marsland name is in the same location as where Record casts its name, and the made in Canada was where the Made in England is cast in.
I have never heard of Marsland but it looks beefy and will be going on my bench. I just want to make sure its a quality vise.
So, has anyone ever seen one of these before and where do they rate quality wise? Is it equal to a Record?
