I'm in Frederick MD & have been looking for good flea markets. I work most weekends so anything open during the week is a plus. I know these are some people's coveted secrets but any help would be appreciated

Assuming you are looking for tools? The US1 Flea market in Elkridge is pretty good if you want to rummage through loose wrenches, etc., at certain vendors. It's not a honey hole, they will negotiate, but it can be hit or miss too.

I don't think there is any way "good" and "flea market" go together in our area.....everyone I know of within 50 mile or so of Frederick are just junk sales.

Auction places CAN have some good stuff, but I never see anything in the adds to be worth going outta my way to make it to the event. I used to, usually the equipment / tool consignment auctions (like Frederick or Howard County fairgrounds), but the influx of clueless people willing to pay dang near full new price at an auction for used stuff made me give up on that 10 / 15 years ago....maybe it's better now, I dunno.....

Thanks for the responses. They've pretty much reinforced my experiences. The trout link was pretty good. Upcoming one didn't have tools listed but I'll definitely keep an eye on it

If it's tool and car parts you seek then check out the Real Man's Yard Sales that Lowes Cruisers puts on a couple times a year (spring and fall) I've been several times and have scored some amazing deals on tools. Add them to your facebook feed and watch for when they post the flyers up about it.

Side note... They have car meets every Friday evening when it is nice out. If you're in the area then swing by and check them out. Some great rides and a lot of nice people.

You and I unfortunately live in some of the most affluent suburbs in the country. Nobody sells anything of value in flea markets around here. All you typically find is broken toys, kids clothes, and old electronics. Most people around here just throw stuff out instead of selling it - apparently they have too much money.

I've occasionally found tools at the old Harper's Ferry flea market, but that's gone now. I pretty much just scan the local Craigslist daily.

I've been wondering about that one on 340. Any idea when they're open?
I looked up the other one online & with my schedule it probably wouldn't be worth the hassle. When you've got a toddler days off are at a premium.

I used to go there years back, but your really have to be an optimist going to a flea market in WV. Cochran auctions in Boonesboro might be worth a look. They have a website.
