Hey guys, so i am doing some interlocking, and planning on buying the harbor freight 2.5hp 10" tile/brick saw, and wanted to put on a really good quality blade on it. Any suggestions?

BTW, does anyone have a coupon for that saw?

Thanks:)

I had the same one for years probably the older model, wouldn't say the best saw but does the job, the blade that came with the tool don't last a few cuts.

Went to HD and get this worked fine for a while till I just try to cut too fast a few times wore the saw blade out fast. when it starts to split your tiles while cutting, it's about time to check your blade and change them. but any blade out there is about better then the one that came with this saw.

Get a name brand blade (don't even think that saw comes with a blade) for the material you plan to cut. Other than that, the saw should do great.

You may have to clean it out more often than if you were just doing tile with it.

Yea, i don't mind having to clean it, as a saw more suitable for that kind of work is considerable more expensive, or does someone know of a saw more appropriate to that sort of thing?

I heard of good things about black widow blades, anyone else?

It really don't matter too much just NOT that HF blades. and blades will wear out. You should buy an extra pump while you are there though if you are doing lots and lots of tiles on a job. and make sure water are running to the saw blade without splashing you too much to have a wet t-shirt contest.

I just tried that dewalt and the Rigid brand blades for that machine.

The MK diamond ones for the smaller 7".

I just did some interlocking for a path to my garage man door...I bought a 4.5" masonry blade for my Hilti angle grinder. This was a dry cut blade.

I paid $15 for it at a local hardware store. It worked great !

Used a black marker to draw the line I wanted to cut right on the paver...first cut along the line (grinder went about halfway through the paver...flip the paver on each edge to transfer cut to the back side...then another cut between the 2 transfered lines...if the blade doesn't cut all the way through...just tap it with a hammer.

It makes a lot of dust...so do it outside when there is a breeze !

AND WEAR EYE PROTECTION !

The ill equipped group outside the HD door will cut tiles dry with a grinder. That pisses me off to know all that dust is going to settle in some lungs somewhere. But, I live hard in the city. I guess out on the farm you can do whatever you like.

Nothing but wet cuts for me. I'll use any 7" blade that costs $40 or so. You get what you pay for.

I've seen the HF saw and it looks good enough for home use. I bought a used HD branded machine that isn't made any longer. Not too bad.

Keep the water clean. Almost better to use a total loss water system.

I was contemplating that, as i have a dewalt 9" grinder, with considerable power, however, i didnt; fancy the dry cutting, was wondering if there was some safe way to incoporate some water. I also have a ryobi 4.5" wet circle saw; as well as a 7" mk diamond wet saw, however i was a bit concerned that some of the retaining wall blocks wouldn't fit in it.

I bought the same HF saw, it's a beast. I loaded mine with a QEP black widow for cutting man made stone back splash:

For the real stone I'll have to do later on I bought a Bosch segmented diamond. Haven't tried it out yet:

Yea, that's the black widow I heard about? How did you find it? Also how thick was the stone you were cutting?

Would you suggest the Bosch, I have 3" pavers ....and 6" retaining wall blocks
