I'm looking for ideas to better organize my drill bits.
My Dad was a machinist and left me with a good size box full of drill bits mostly ranging from 1/64" - 1/2".
The box weighs 75 pounds so there are quite a few drill bits I'm dealing with.
I would guess at least 90% are brand new, there are a few still in packages, but most are loose.
Dad used to have a nice metal Lawson cabinet with separate bins for each size that held a lot of bits, this box I have here is actually full of the overflow bits that wouldn't fit in his cabinet. I'd like to find another cabinet like he had but they are hard to find, and are usually a little pricey. I'm on a tight budget.
I would like to come up with a better idea to keep them all organized instead of just mixed together in the box they are currently in. So any inspiration is appreciated.
The index you see in the following picture on the bottom right is what I keep at my drill press, every once in a while I replenish it out of the big box of bits.
