At our NAPA store in Mansfield, Ohio, we are having a massive tool sale, as we prepare to switch from Napa Hand Tools to the new Carlyle brand. Savings are at 70% on all the Napa Brand Hand Tools. Check your local NAPA store to see if they are having sales as well.

Not 70% off here.

50% all NAPA Pro line hand tools though.

Not a great bargain at 50%.
70% off gets you into "i might wanna buy that" territory for most folks I bet.

What have you guys got for pliers and/or screwdrivers? Would you be able to pick anything up and ship if we gave you money? :)


Specifically looking for pliers to match these, and the black handled Napa screwdrivers.

I will check tomorrow, when I go to work. I know that we don't have any of the black handled screwdrivers. Pliers are becoming very scarse and I can't reorder from the DC.

If there are any NAPA-branded welding clamps, get them.
I picked up a few at the Charlotte AutoFair two years ago and tried them out. The following year I went back specifically to find that vendor and get some more.
If they were 70% off, I'd load up the trunk of my car!

Heh, my apologies. I thought you were joking because of the discussion of the new brand that have been going on. Apparently 5-6 threads is enough to make a few people start bitching like old women due to "high volume" of threads about Carlyle Tools. :lol:

(Just search "Carlyle" and start reading. It's amazing how polarizing the discussions have been.)

Long story short: Yes. New tool line. MSRP between street prices of Gearwrench and Truck brands. Good quality tools, though it's a bit early to tell if they're "World beaters" yet. Made in Taiwan, so you're a terrorist if you buy some.

Well the "want" here is an all Napa tools-filled tool cart for general small projects. Like, the stuff i won't get filthy doing. Oil changes, brake pads/rotors, rotations, stereos, stuff like that.

Why? No idea. I just want to.

what is NAPA going to do about warranty claims with the older NAPA brand tools if they are no longer carrying them? I have a bunch of napa tools and now worried about the warranty on them.....

Wow, I went out this morning to run my deliveries, came back and 2 tool boards and the remaining tools that were on them were gone. It seems that a customer bought the remaining pliers and combination wrenches, and asked if he could have the boards. The way the tools are disappearing, there won't be anything left by Monday.

The NAPA brand tools will more than likely be replaced under warranty with a Carlyle replacement. Don't know for sure but I bet that is what will happen.

As stated above, any of the NAPA pro line will be given an equal tool for warranty from the Carlyle if no current or NOS NAPA Pro equal is available.

It's not the the tool line is going to **** or going away. If anything, the likelyhood of it being stronger is the direction it is going.

If you really want a NAPA pro tool as a replacement you better act fast. Most retailers don;t keep a large stock and anything ordered will likely be Carlyle.
And don't forget your receipt/invoice. LOL. I keep mine for NAPA to ease any warranty issues. It's a habitt, and they are not printed on the **** thermo paper anyway.

From what i've gotten so far, they aren't worse. I'd say they're better. (Can't compare pliers yet, i'll have them on Tuesday.) But they're made in Taiwan, so everyone will complain.

Thanks for the info. So who exactly made Napa tools here in the USA and why are they sourcing them to a Taiwan company? I am sure it has to do with economic reasons.

They developed their own new line called Carlyle Hand Tools. They're made in Taiwan factories. I'm sure cost was part of it.


Anyways... anyone come across any of the Napa USA pliers or screwdrivers for me? :D
