I have a master force 72” box that I would like to add a side box too and when I went to menards yesterday, the side box fits great on the toolbox but the bottom of the side box doesn’t match the bottom of my toolbox, looks a little weird, does anyone have any suggestions?

Box it in with a fake panel so it looks correct and doesnt bother the OCD. Granted no more storage but will look more uniform.

The webpage I read didn't mention it was compatible with the 72" cabinet.
The lack of bright trim on the drawer handles bothers me more than the height difference.
Options:
Accept it as it is.
Weld/rivet/bolt a skirt on the side box and paint to match. Maybe make it triangular to give a better departure angle. ;-)
Wait for Master Force to make one that matches (might never do it).

I'd get the US General. The drawers have bright trim. There are several colors to choose from. It's $80 cheaper without a sale coupon. I wouldn't feel bad about welding to it. But, it might require some modification to attach it to your box and it's only 22.5" deep.

^ if choose right color it have matching trim

Just live with the height difference, doesn't look that bad to me, certainly better over boxing it in or using other brand side cabinet ... drawer lines match up and that most important from visual aspect if fussy .
Lot of side hangons are shorter so not uncommon see this .

That masterforce 72" is nice layout with 3 wide drawers, sensible depth and proper drawer pull latch . turns out massive with 1 or 2 side drawer hang-ons (another 32" so 104" box) and is pretty cheap for quality level if hold out for best sale/rebate deal .

I didn’t even realize it but my toolbox is an older version of the 72 and is only 20 inches deep and not 24 like the new ones

That indeed a problem, sell your old one and get the new 24" model :)
you may find other 18" side boxes that fit but nothing going be perfect match up !

1300bucks on sale/rebate, be lucky find proper decent 30" truck box for that money but it always best look used first as they hold value and can be big jump in durability .
Masterforce pretty good for sale pricing though .
