Master/slave motion lights?

Last shop I built I had three motion lights, they were wired so that if one sensed motion, all three lit up.

Doing a new garage and I have not found any locally that can do this. Also had no luck online.

Can anyone recommend an eave mount light that can control multiple lights?
150-300 watt halogen?
Thanks in advance,
Keithinsc

Build your own. Buy a photocell, a relay, and whatever lights you want. Wire them together and they will do the job.

I havent seen those Insteon lights before. Those have potential.

But if I just want 'dumb' lights, I'm still looking for the ones that you can gang together, I think they used a yellow signal wire? All the Heath/Zenith I looked at at Lowes and HD didnt have the signal wire. It was a few years ago, but the ones I put in my old garage had that feature.

Keep the suggestions coming!

THanks,

If you are wiring for a "signal wire" you are essentially providing a control path for any of the motion detectors you put up. Just keep them all on the same breaker (and thereby same phase) and wire them in parallel so any motion will activate all the lights.

I was planning on using some 14/3, or 12/3 depending on the load. But the problem I'm having is what to connect the traveler to. All the lights I have opened up at the store are just black, white and bare wires, no traveller/signal wire.
Or does someone have a trick to teach a rookie on how to reach my goal! I understand the suggestion about using a relay to trip the others, but I'd prefer not to get that complicated.

Gotta get something installed, the boxed openings are open, and the mud wasps are fixin to make a mess in them again!

Thanks,
Keithinsc

this is a totally random question that i thought about for my application/weird self...how small can you get photocells that have a decent range but would blend in?

think photo cell activated lights that also trigger the paintball sentry, quickly creates the new species, the pink spotted squirrel ;)
