I got a master torpedo heater 100,000btu. It lights up at first and stays running for a little but and then the flame just goes out and it fills the garage with smoke. I checked the pressue with a gauge and its right on the dot at 4psi, and thats what it says in the specs on the side of it.
I bought a new ignitor off ebay, thinking thats the problem but im not that sure if it was and I really cant figure out how to hook it up. The old ignitor thats still in it has a ground and two wires, the new coil has no ground, two wires and two spark plug wires comming out of it.
Do these symptoms sound like the coil, or maybe I bought the wrong part. I dont really know much about heaters so any help would be great.

reddyparts.com will give you help with the troubleshooting and also parts and breakdowns.

There is a flame sensor eye, and it is probably dirty and shutting down the unit because it is not seeing the flame. May just need cleaning.

While you are studying ReddyParts web page.
Read ALL the troubleshooting and FAQ's!
Reason is I just replaced damaged rear covers and filters which included changing the spring/ball/plug assemblies.
Anyways one guy commented to check everything for stickiness and or dirt.
My 100k exhibited the same thing.
Run perfect for a couple of hours.
Next day, move to same position, run exactly as you describe.
10 minutes, then blow itself out!
anyways, what I found was that MudDaubers had put dirt in the hole. Making the ball sticky in operation.
Hence when I checked it I had 4psi, moving the unit in and out of storage, jiggled the dirt causing the ball to stick. Like you describe run then "Blow Out".
I loosened the adjustment screw, spring came out, Ball did not drop out. Banged it on the workbench a few times to get the ball to come out. I had a dirty ring on it where it was sticking.
Any ways I had all new parts. Put it together, set pressure, ran for 2 hours.
Figure it is good!

Clean or replace the nozzle too. Check all the rubber lines for any kind of cracks also. I've seen them crack and leak air but not fuel.
