I recently got the kit and really like it. I tried to make some GM push connect ends for practice and had an issue. The tubing binds up in the die tight enough that I had to use vise grips on the tube & die to spin them apart. The tubing is 304ss annealed 0.028 wall and the tubing ends were deburred. Do you use the annealed tubing or put some lube in the die to help with the release after flaring?

I got this from another forum. lube the tubing and polish the female die to minimize any surface imperfections from holding onto the tubing.

How is it on brake lines does it make a mtric bubble flare?

1)awesome
2)yes

3) they even have an adapter kit for AN/JIC 37* flares

If you do lines on a regular basis or have a bunch to do on a restore project they are worth the weight in gold. They are also not that much more expensive than a metric and standard kit combined, plus you kit the extras like GM push connect.

A trick to using it, is not to over squeeze. That little handle puts a tremendous force out, and if you push as hard as you can, you'll never get the dies back off.

ANOTHER TIP: be very gentle using your tubing cutter, any out-of-round or deformation to the tubing end will cause problems.

I usually just take the tubing out with the tie stuck on the end give it a quick tap on the work bench and bam die pops off.
