They need to make some dies so you can put nylon directly on to steel lines. They make nylon to steel compression unions, but these can be a challenge to get a leak free seal. We always use pex clamps to help seal the connections. I'd like to be able to make steel line sections to handle the tight bends. I'd like to make the flares on the left of the first picture. I'm trying to get away from the unions like in the second picture.
I wonder if you can use a GM ****** quick connect flare to get a nylon to steel connection.
