Mastercool Vacuum Pump making hella noise

My old 5CFM Mastercool (90065) vacuum pump had broken the coupling, replaced it, now although pulls 29.5" makes an awful noise and the oil looked "metallic". Looks like I can buy the cartridge for around $130 and repair the thing or should I just buy a new pump?https://www.mastercool.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/90062-65-67_parts-list.pdf

Has anyone successfully been through one?

They're not overly complicated inside. I would make sure the motor alignment is good.

I would buy another pump.
I went through this with a friends MC vaccum pump and it also needed a cartridge at a cost of $80-85 ,it was a 2 CFM.

I picked up a used 5cfm pump at a pawn shop for $40.
