I just ordered a blue 56" set today. On the app there are 2 ads posted. On one of the ads there is a pic of one of the sets posted, then a button to click that shows all toolboxes. Click that button, pick your size, everything is on sale until this Saturday 2/17. The savings look to be equal to the 11 percent rebate recently.

Any experience with these holding up to professional use? I’m a diesel mechanic and looking for a new box. Coming from a Classic 78 I was considering this or a Tool Vault but the local Menards didn’t have any for me to look at. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I’m looking into the 72” options

I have a 41 bottom mounted in by service van for about 3 years and it is fully loaded and it has held up great. thing to remember about these boxes is I believe they are lifetime warranty so any issue they will take care of it

I have a 72" for home use. It's held up great and the grip latch is nice.

if you haven't bought one of these yet and are in the market, wait about a week or two more and they should be even cheaper. I went to pick one up yesterday and the worker suggested I wait a week or two as they're going to continue to mark down the boxes. They had some awesome deals already, but i'll wait and see what they get moved down to

Hey biknut, can you please tell me if the 6 drawer side cabinet can accept casters. I know the old 18" deep ones did, but I have not yet seen the 24" deep ones in person yet. Thank you in advance, and sorry to derail the thread...

Miskaya-

No hijack, threads are here to help!

I had not looked at the bottom of the side cabinet, but I just now saw that there are threaded holes on the bottom of it, 4 on each corner. In fact, both side cabinets gave them. I'm betting you easily find casters and bolts to fit.

Hope this helps!

That’s nice. I have my eye on one of these. Waiting for the right sale.
I ordered last week when they were on sale, saved over $200. Gonna try for the 11 percent rebate that was mentioned earlier as well.

just got back from menards, they had display models on sale, not as big of a price drop as the employee told me last week (but it might still be early yet). Either way, I grabbed a MF 30" top/bottom for a hell of a deal. Haven't brought it home yet, the rear airbags froze up in the hummer while i was there so I didn't want to push my chances with the weight ha.

That 56" setup is nice! I'm thinking I might go with the 72" version as it should work better for my needs. I wish the 56" had two full width top drawers.

Yeah, me too! I like the HF drawer layout better, but the depth won out with this one.

I'm waiting one more week, and if the exact box I'm looking for isn't on sale I am going to sent you pics of my last BM!! :D

Man, I wish we had a Menard's hereabouts. $250 shipping for the 46" lower... sigh.

Have you guys checked out the new harbor freight boxes? I have the old style, considering upgrading in the future to a master force box, but I checked out the new us general boxes... built better than the old, which are built good, deeper, handles are solid, badges look better.. And cheaper. I think they may be what I upgrade to

I am starting to look at boxes. Wide drawers are what I feel I would want. Being 24" deep will help with real estate. I suppose a 36" 24" deep would be a big upgrade from a 26 x 18's.

What is used to fill the stainless tops?

Bumping the thread since there is still one week of sales for this offer. Sale ends 4/29/18.

Had an up close look and now deciding what I want. Thanks to the OP.

Looks like Menard's has this pricing going again this week. I picked up the 72" a couple weeks ago and it was about a 3 week lead time to get it in. Assuming they might be being built to order.

I picked up a blue 36x24 two weeks ago after being on thr search for a couple months. I upgraded from an older craftsman 26 x 18 setup. Unreal the difference in available space. My previous box was overflowing, now it looks like i barely have any tools at all.

They're not building them and shipping from China in 3 weeks. :)

Touche'

I suppose they have them centrally warehoused though. Got notification this morning mine is in. Debating if I want to have them deliver it (for a fee) or wrangle it myself.

I put the 56" bottom on a borrowed trailer, put the casters on as I was sliding it off. Put the top case in back of the truck and removed the box from around it. I picked one end up on top of the lower, my wife held it in place (no lifting for her, just holding) while I picked the other end up. Slid it right into place, no problems.

I did also get the 11% rebate check for just under $200, on top of buying them at the sale price.

I cleared out the old 20", took about 3 drawers. I have cleared out cabinets, credenzas, shelves, drawers- and I still have 3 drawers left empty in this one!

Loaded the 72" in the back of my Nissan hardbody... the tailgate "almost" closed. Poor kids at the Menards were like... huh? Will that fit!? Yup... They picked up the box in the middle with the forklift forks.. slid the end on and we used 4 guys to slide it the rest of the way in.

Got home and uncrated it in the truck... had to cut the pallet in the middle so I could slide a scissor jack under it and pull the crate out from each end under the wheels. Then just used my metal ramps and slid it down onto the drive (luckily I have a steep angle on the drive).

Box ended up having a dent/crease along the top rail portion in the very back. The folks at Menards gave me a discount and I called it a day. Doesn't effect the function and a little work with a block and a hammer and it will straighten right up.

72" is a BEAST... lots of room.

That sounds scary... glad it worked! The guys at HD used the forklift and pushed my line of 3 52"s up against my toolbox against the bed of my truck and moved the whole truck. Fortunately no damage to anything!

I look at the 72's whenever I am in an "out of town" Menards that has one on display... such a nice box. I do kind of wish there was a giant upper for it. None of the Menards around me have a 72" display, but none of them have been updated either.

I thought about ordering the 72" but after unloading my 56" box, I was so glad I went with a 36" and 56". The nice thing about the 36" box is that is has a lot of thinner drawers on the top and bottom chests.

Glad it worked out for you, it's a nice piece.

I looked at doing that exact combination. I really wanted the 3 wide drawers for the way I keep my box laid out though. They are nice boxes. I'm pleased with my purchase for sure. Ask me again in 5-10 years and hopefully my answer will be the same!
