Masterforce vs New Age Cabinets

Looking at some cabinet options to install in my garage in the upcoming weeks and am partial between a couple options out there.

1) Masterforce cabinets @ Menards

2) New Age Pro Series

Looking for any options/opinions on either. I see pros and cons to either however it'd be nice to get some additional feedback.

The Masterforce are available locally for me which is great, no shipping, no waiting and I can return for free. I am actually tempted to just buy and try a couple while Menards has 11% rebate this week. Downside to them is the size configuration won't be as well fitting to the area I had planned as the new age and they have less options for cabinets. There is limited info on these online and the height of them when installed may block a couple of outlets for me so I might have to spend some time moving those around. Though I am not sure if they measure these with our with out the legs. I am planning on mounting directly to the wall so they would be removed. New Age gives dimensions and info either way.

New Age look great on paper and one can find free shipping however returns would be difficult if I had to. And time frame to get them seems to be somewhat lengthy. The size and way I can configure these would be a bit more fitting for the area I'd like to put them and the fact that there is a 36" wide tall cabinet is great (though they don't give it away and I could just stack 2 Masterforce, though they are 30 wide).

Any input on these or first has experience would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Ben

I know it's usually annoying when someone suggests a different option than what you're asking about, but... have you looked at the Gladiator Premier series?
You can purchase them from numerous retailers like Lowes, Home Depot, Sears. And most offer in store pickup. If you keep an eye out for sales you can get a pretty decent price.
I already had their upper cabinets (30" or so) at my last house and brought them to my new garage. I picked up their rolling drawer cabinet (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Gladiato...-Cabinet-in-Silver-Tread-GAGD275DRG/205197240) and two of their matching cabinets with doors. After I already had those I was still shopping/deciding on a back wall workbench. Ended up getting their 96" Maple workbench for under $400. I figured I couldn't build anything half as nice for much less than that!
They also make 30" wide by 66" tall floor cabinets to go with.

I'm very happy with the quality and usefulness of the Gladiator Premier series. Thick steel, good dimensions, solid construction, etc.

The upper cabinets were a store pickup/sale at Sears a few years back. I did that to save shipping but also due to reviews stating shipping damage. Did the same thing with the rest of the pieces and used Home Depot this time. Everything on sale and ready at the store within a week. I almost took one of the cabinets back due to a slight dent in the front. However, decided to keep it because it doesn't affect functionality and didn't want to bother.

Brocken - thanks for the suggestion. The Gladiators had also been on my radar.

With the current sale I ended up picking up some of the Masterforce cabinets at Menards. They seem to be pretty good quality/solid and came with stainless tops which I can't complain about that. I ended up going with these for the fact that I could just go to the store and grab them. I don't have a Lowes or HD anywhere near by due to living in Menards hometown and Sears here has very limited selection.

I'll get them all together and see how they work and luckily not being special order I can just take them back if I don't like them :)!

Did you buy Masterforce tool boxes or storage cabinets? I really like my Masterforce tool boxes but the storage cabinets never thrilled me.

Whatever you chose, I hope it works out.

My Dad purchased the New Age Pro Series for his garage. I AM IMPRESSED!.

That is a lot of cabinet for the money. After helping him install them, that is a sturdy product.

I am going to order them for myself now.

Just assembled some Newage performance plus 2.0 cabinets today. Beautiful product but I had lots of shipping damage. I'll report back how they handle it. I am still waiting on a few more before finishing the assembly...

NewAge goes out of it's way to make customers happy. If you purchase one or two at a time they are delivered through UPS or FedEx. That means they're handled a few more times. If you purchase a set of cabinets they come from the factory shrink wrapped on a skid. Less handling equals less damage.

If you want more information search "Newage cabinets" right here on Garage Journal. There are lots of reviews here. If you click on my signature you go to my website. Lots of information and videos.

I know its been some time since your post and wondering how you like your Masterforce cabinets? Did they hold up? I'm interested in them myself.

Thank you 😊

There seem to be more choices now — Husky and others — with good selections. I would check the gauge and whether welded or not and compare to the New Age Pro. I don’t recommend the New Age Bold or other thin gauge assemble from a flat box type cabinets unless for really light duty use.

Good to know, which I didn't. However, I did think he would have gotten an email unless there's a way and there probably is to not have emails sent back for new post. Also maybe he changed his email address. Anyway, do appreciate your letting me know. 😊

I agree there is a lot of choices. Wish one could actually see them in the store. Home Depot only carries plastic ones by me and you have to order the metal.
Thanks for your reply.
