Mat expansion issues?

Got a sample of the small coin mat and a diamond tile from Garageflooring LLC. I was surprised by the plastic feeling of the tile. I thought it would have more of a rubber feel. The mat sample did seem more rubbery.

Thinking of going with the mat. My new construction garage is 30' x 36'. Garageflooring's website mentions a couple of times about mats expanding/contracting in large areas.

Anyone have any experience with small coin mat ion a large area? I was thinking about three sheets 10' wide, so I will have three to match together. Garage has no irregular areas, basically a rectangle with one small step up into the mud room to cut around.

I give up a lot of sales because I have that warning posted so big. Tiles expand and contract too but it does not have the same impact. U have had both in my own garage.

a 30x36 will require 3-4 mats depending on the layout. More if you don't go custom. I can almost guarantee you that the 'land locked' mat will have issues unless you glue the whole floor. You can also use center strips. My bigger issue was the tire marks. If you go with black you can avoid that.

Rigid tiles are a harder plastic and they generally do not stain from tires. You will have to leave a gap around the perimeter but we have projects much larger with 0 issues when they follow our guidelines.

You could go with a PVC tile but tire marks can still be an issue.
