first time post here.

I can get a student discount with matco and snap on.

I am looking for a cordless impact.

the matco MCL2012HPIKG green impact caught my eye. I am a big fan of there 1/2 air impact already. any thoughts on it?

I like some snap on tools but there cordless tools seems to be behind. I did try out a Milwaukee. I wish the head was on a angle. like the others.

any imput?

thanks

I traded my beat up Snap-on towards a mac branded Dewalt 899. I would have never bought the snap on one if it hadn't been part of a much larger set I was getting.

The batteries don't interchange with anything and are super expensive, the gun isn't all that impressive either. My co worker just had his rebuilt under warranty because it was getting weak.

Go to a box store and get a Dewalt or Milwaukee one, get some extra batteries around Black Friday, use your lowes card for 5% off extra, or buy them through amazon even. They will last a lot longer and hold up a lot better than either Matco or Snap-on ever will. A good Dewalt is still cheaper than 50% off Snap-on all day.

Keep in mind the snap on kit has 2 batteries vs 1 and a bigger Line up of tools

Between the 2 honestly the matco is the better gun

But even with your discount look at Milwaukee they hold up and might be cheaper than with your discount too

The Matco is spendy. How big is your student discount?

You know all the pros/cons of the truck brands, I'm sure. If Milwaukee isn't your cup of tea, try checking out the Dewalt 20v Max XR kit.

the matco I can get it for $488 with 1 battery. extra battery around $130 i think

or ct8850 for $445

Like I said in my post above, take a look at that Dewalt kit. Bought one a month ago and have been very happy. For less than $600 can get a big 1/2 (same as Mac), grease gun, 3/8, nice flashlight and two 4.0 batteries and a charger. Hard to beat for the money. Plus Dewalt has a much larger tool selection than Matco or SnapOn if you ever want to expand. If your unsure of the performace of the Dewalt DCF899 vs the competitors, do a Google search. Plenty of information and videos out there.
