Hello all, just seeking some advice / opinions...I found a mint condition Matco 4S Power for sale, I think it's called the black vein color, power drawer and USB / regular outlets on the front...guy is asking $1500...any issues with these boxes? I've heard stories about them rusting easily. Any advice / opinions / recommendations / warning lol are appreciated. Not a pro here, the box would be for home / DIY use.

I'll ask my buddy, he has one in silver.

Seems like a nice box, good quality. Noticed some of the mid drawers with some weight makes the box lean forward tiny bit. Better than my box...but I have nicer/more tools ;-).

Nice boxes, do check all slides perfect smooth and open fully .
If worried about rust buy a can or 2 of krown and lightly coat bottom, lower inner and any vulnerable looking inner seams .
I own 4 older Matco boxes used in daily auto shop and got no complaints, newer boxes not as good but still good.
I would try save 100 to 200 bucks on that but if it like new and you like size and layout then go for it .

From what I understand, the main difference between the 4S/5S/6S boxes is the basic box is the same. Drawer layout, drawer slide rating and caster capacity are the main differences. Color options increase with the 5S/6S as well. Not a bad box overall, IMO.

The black silver vein is a nice color & doesnt show dust much. I have a JSC750 car in that color.

I have a 5S that I purchased used and abused,it does have tiny rust bubbles in wierd places just a random spot mid panel here and there.
The drawer slides are warrantied so no worries there,I have replaced 5 or so on their dime.

Thanks gentlemen, your advice helped me save another $200 on the box so at that price it’s cheaper than a 72” HF box, might as well pull the trigger on it - thanks again, be well.

^ yeh you can't go far wrong when buy them fairly cheap .
us general is 3" less depth at 22" over the matco at 25", closest cheaper box comparison is menards masterforce or homak rs pro .
Holds lot of resale value too so you don't loose out if need/want sell it in future .
Enjoy the box ....
If want do something nice with 200bock buy a quality old not too big vise and clean it up, paint it and mount on top,

Asked my buddy, said he has no complaints but would probably go snap-on if he did it again.
