Good looking box. Interesting how it has two wide deep drawers instead of one wide deep drawer with two wide shallow drawers below. If you were the only bidder, that'd be a helluva deal.

That is a 6225RX. The drawer configuration can be customized. You can to 2 big or 1 big/2 small or 4 small. the smalls can be put on top of or below the big drawer.

Dave - Out of curiousity, What are your toolbox sales like on a % basis between 4S / 5S / 6S? rough, gut feel numbers are OK, I'm just curious.

I ask because you have said before that the Matco boxes all have the same guage metal and the same construction. Therefore, one should not perform or not more durable than another.

IIRC, the 5S and 6S are just offering 'features' like different sizes, drawer configs, colors, caster options, etc.

Are most pro techs willing to shell out the money for the 5S and 6S on the basis of size and features?

Also, which top do most guys get? phenolic? stainless?

Do a lot of guys go with the 8" casters?

Do you think the website configuator boosts toolbox sales?

Kind of a cool setup... I dunno if I'd want a "full deep" drawer right below the top though. I almost prefer the S/O KRL1022 setup with the 2" full width under the 4". I keep telling myself my next box will be a 1022 or else a nice Matco 3 bay.... not this week though! haha.

justinmc...The 1022 has a 5" drawer on the top and the next drawer is actually about 3". I have a box with a setup like that and I find the drawer setup less than ideal for me. I think the idea is to have sockets standing up in the top drawer and wrenches in the second drawer....For me, this leaves a lot of wasted space.

I find the drawer setup on the 1001 much better, more drawer, less wasted space with the same exterior volume.

That would be my thought to put wrench sets in the second drawer. I mostly wrench metric stuff so right now my Cornwell with the dual bank (60" wide) and 2" second drawer split about 75/25 works great. All the metric stuff goes in the wide drawer and the SAE stuff fits nicely in the smaller drawer next to it. I dunno I don't think there is any such thing as the perfect configuration!

On a side note.. the more I've played with the s/o roll n lock latches.. the more I don't like them. I prefer the Matco type latch. Seems easier to work IMHO. My friend has a 3 bank Matco and I forget the model but man that sucker has some serious storage volume.

I sell probably 45% 4s, 10% 5s, 45% 6s. It seems like the 4 fits in the budget or the 6 just fits their needs.

Love that setup.. man thanks for convincing me... well except the roll n lock latches..

The lock and roll latches come right out of your not into them. Check out the new EPIC boxes. they have alot more room in them compared to the regular KRL boxes. the standard 2 bank has almost as mush room as a regular KRL 3 bank. and the latches are pretty awsome too. Dont think about the corny youtube video. You have to see one in person

I did forget to add. I've never sold one with the 8" casters. On the 6s it's usually the stainless top. I have never had a customer hand me the build sheet & say order the one that they built on the configurator.
