My 3/8 Matco locking flex head ( 12 3/4 inch) green soft grip handle has a crack at the bolt hole. Does anyone know if it is available as a part? If so what os the part number ? I just spent almost 2 hours on the Matco site with no luck..

Holy smokes 2 hours? 15 minutes later I would just email them. Their customer service is really nice. Might now be free like Snappy but they could tell you the part number.

I don't believe they sell handles or even grips separately. For some reason. But they sell the heads. Dunno their logic.

Call them on Monday morning and tell them the issue. They may require you to send them a picture or return the ratchet, but they should replace it with a new one.

They have to warranty the whole ratchet. That was the first thing I asked my dealer before I purchased my first Matco ratchet.

And I agree that the website is a bit outdated but their customer service via the phone is amazing.

So that mechanics can carry a spare to swap quickly and easily in the field, then warranty out the damaged one for cheap. It's a great idea.

Yes, it makes sense to sell the head, but my point was that if you sell the head, why not at least sell a replacement rubber grip- like Snap On does? Once the grip is shot, Matco will replace it with a new ratchet, versus giving you a $5 replacement grip instead. Again, this doesn't make sense to me, but YMMV.

MAC has done exactly that with their new ratchets. I would assume Matco just doesn’t want to alter their manufacturing method. Maybe ran the numbers and felt it wasn’t worth it.
