Good ratchets. If you keep an eye out they sometimes throw in the 1/4 for free on larger purchases.

Same here... I got the craftsman premium set with 84t. It turns out to be true gearwrench gives out the better results than premium speaking of their task on loosening fasteners pretty fast n neat. Premium n matco r pretty much the same.

those look exactly like the gear wrench.

They actually are made by whoever owns gearwrench (danaher, apex what ever the hell they are called now) in the USA for Matco. They are identical to the Armstrong MAXX 88tooth ratchets. You can get all 3 MAXX ones for roughly $80 from armstrong, but probably can't warranty them as easily as Matco.

EDIT: Can't get a 88 1/2 drive one from Armstrong.

Is Gearwrench made in USA? The Matcos say USA right on them

Only the craftsman premium, Armstrong, and matco are made in the USA-the other brands and gearwrench branded ones are China/Taiwan.

Gearwrench Torque Wrenches are also USA.

Except not?

The two pawls don't engage at the same time so the mechanism in the 88 can (should) handle more torque

I think the right answer is to buy all the ratchets.

Yup and make a YouTube of their breakdowns: performances in tight areas and which one gets the job done quickly is the answer. Talk is cheap over here. So that way case is closed and there won't be any more retarded wasteland going on here.
