Matco 88 upgrade Gearwrench/ Armstrong question?

Is the new Matco 88 upgrade that you can change out the gearwrench and armstrong 60's to 88's the same as craftsman thin pro 60's? I know that the c-man is quick relase but will they swap?? I want a high tooth ratchet but don't have the money right now(christmas) to get a new gearwrench or armstrong and gut kit to try and see if I like it. Might be cheaper if it will work to see if I like the ratcheting action before I buy something I might not like? So will c-man thin profile guts swap with the matco 88 kits, I know there will be a hole in the back, but will it work?

I cannot say if the kit will work, but, the hole in the back will let contaminants in. This would not be good.

Dave can I send you a PM about the 88t kits? I have a 3/8" flex gearwrench that I'd like to try an 88t kit. Also, I've seen a Matco factory or possibly a distribution center here in the Jamestown, NY area. What do they do/make there? Thanks.

+1 on what DaveBlank said. The extra 28 teeth is not worth having a hole in the head of your ratchet.

Just how "inferior" are the GEARWRENCH 60 tooth rachets...............

Coming from a long history of using Snap On 36 Tooth Rachets

isnt this just too much for an ole amatuer, like me.......

I know that the hole would let dirt in but will it work? If someone has a gearwrench they want to give me this is my option right now and I have a solution to the hole if the kit will work, so again will the kit work??

Just suffer with the Craftsman the way it is until you have the money to buy a Matco. Plain and simple.
