I bought a set of Matco impacts on Craigslist recently and was just curious about the COO. I searched all over and came up even more confused. They are not stamped USA, but seem really nice. Any help would be appreciated.

I find it very peculiar that they're not stamped USA. The Matco impact sockets I have are stamped USA.

I have MATCO impact sockets without COO. I believe they are Taiwanese.

Made in the USA,those are the hardline impact sockets. The ADV line is made in Taiwan

But ADV line is less than a decade old IIRC.
Decade and a half at most I'm guessing.

The holder looks COO USA but only by lablel.

The sockets should be stamped.

If not it screams "bait and switch" or antics to me. unless pre 70's tools which some industrial suppliers did not stamp tools but did make them in the USA.

Still iffy to me.

ADV are foreign, they came out maybe 3 years ago at most. I remember asking our rep the first time they were in the sale flier. He's only been in buisness for 3 years at most. Your sockets look pretty nice quality but, I haven't been around long enough to know what Matco was up to in the 80s and 90s. Don't get too hung up on it, If their good, their good. right??

ADV is about 4years old.

The posted pis is an old set of sockets. They were USA made.

The part number of the socket is Matco's primary impact line, not a second tier (ADV or equivalent) so if they are imported (my guess is they are as well) then it was a time when Matco had no USA offerings.

Thanks for the help guys. I bought them on craigslist with a couple of sets of wrenches. The guy wouldn't break up the lot and sell me only the sockets, so I just bought everything. Well I sold off the wrench sets and ended up with the impacts for...FREE! They are brand new too!
