A local pawn shop has a 14pc 1/2" drive deep metric set in a dark red plastic case, for $75.
Ive searched online and can not find the same set anywhere. They look just like this set, except only 14pc.

What is the value of this set (or the part number), and where are they made?

thanks.

i know thats a good deal at $75, because one of the guys at my job got the 8-19mm set off the truck for 70 bucks. and i would say the COO is taiwan. the steel is probably the same as sunex/grey pneumatic.

Are they Matco or Silver Eagle. Matco is still U.S. I believe but Silver Eagle is Taiwan, Good deal either way.

They are matco. I just wish I could find some that at least "look" the same so I can find some info on them. All the Matco impacts on ebay look different. (other then the picture posted above) and the matco website *****.

Under $140 for a full set of 1/2 deep impacts w/ lifetime warranty isn't half bad. I personally have the 1/2 IR's which I think I gave under $60 for and they have treated me well and I have yet to need to warranty any of them. I'm not looking forward too, asuming it's going to be a pain, but for $60 I'll cross that bridge when needed.

I'd buy them for $75 and I don't even have a Matco guy in town. $75 for a a set of impact sockets that big would be fantastic especially if you have a Matco guy that stops by.

Those are ADV. We (matco) came out with them to be comparable with the Grey, and Sunex price point. We used to be the exclusive source for GP in the us, but they strayed from their contract with matco. So in return matco developed the ADV line to be the direct competition. I have had really good luck with them. The lifetime warranty is awesome, but even better is they have the same warranty as the full blown matco line. They are replaced for breakage (duh) and even when they wear out. GP had to be broken. So for the money they are an awesome socket. They are made in Tiawan, but they are made in Danaher (Matco's parent Co.) factorys = good quality.

Message me if you have any questions.

It might be hard to take advantage of the warranty of those if you don't work at a shop and have a Matco guy show up. Even so, he might be annoyed you didn't buy them from him.

I'd definitely buy the US made ones, but to me, 75$ for used imported sockets seems silly. Maybe just order up the GP or Sunex from Amazon or something.

My thoughts exactly. I work at a factory. The only trucks I see are to haul finished products.

I knew something was strange about the sockets. Not only did they not say the COO on them, but the sockets themselves had very little markings. And the price to boot.

They may be worth the $75(+tax), But Ive already got a set of imported impact sockets that are doing me well. If they where USA, I would make the investment.
