These do not have pins, they are the CV design. One thing I dig about SK impact sockets is that they slim the whole socket end down and not just taper it, which allows access to tighter spots.

No, they're Danaher made just as the Armstrong Maxx impact swivels are too. However, there are no Craftsman or Armstrong 1/4 swivel impact sockets. i'll agree that the Matco, Craftsman, and Armstrong 3/8 and 1/2 impact swivels are basically the same except for, the high visibility markings only being on one side on the Armstrong and Craftsman versions and available sizes are limited.

Ok, they may be black but, that's the end of the similiarity. SK 's are a pinned design with a fat collar. Matco's are vastly better with the pinless CV joint design and finished much better than anyone else's.

Remember, all tool truck prices are insane. Weekly payments make the pain slightly bearable. Not everyone needs a full set of 1/4 drive impact swivel sockets. I know I wouldn't want to be without mine or at least the 7, 8, 10, 13, and 15mm.

There are always cheaper options out there from buying used, to Grey Pneumatic or Sunex. However, there are also techs that will pay to use those sockets.

What do you do with them? Do you use them on your 1/4" IR air ratchet?

THat's the only thing I could think of using them on. I have the regular chrome 1/4 wigglies and I am thinking that the air ratchet might chew them up. I know that the SO 3/8 air ratchet states that it should only be used with impacts. I imagine no one follows this, but I do, or I switch to Craftsman with the air ratchet.

I was looking at the Sears 3/8 impact swivels, as I am sure they are the best right now with that design, but they are priced way high too.

Do they ever go on sale?

What kind of bike is that?

What does this have to do with Mad Max? Was it used in the movie? Is it going to be in the new movie? I like the dual scoops. The color is not bad either.

Sorry, but only the Danaher produced impact swivels have the CV pinless design. SK uses a pin beneath the collar. Mac has a different design which is similiar to putting a square peg in a round hole.

It looks pretty sweet. I like the street glide myself though.

Thanks, I may eventually get the detachable kit for the tourpak so I can have the best of both worlds. Other than installing the Ultra rear speakers and luggage rack I've pretty much left it stock, although the day I bought the bike it was on my lift and I had 103" barrels and pistons in my hands. I decided to leave well enough alone for now.

It's part of having one I guess. Seems like I was doing accessories a lot too when I was there. The antenna that goes in the bat wing area, upgraded speakers in the cluster, seats, seat backs, those huge lights that go in the front on the crash bars, etc..

I got a "Free" Ipod from Snap on last week.............

after I bought this...

That iPod was not "free". It came out of the $1,000+ profit your snappy guy made on you last week. Nice purchase though.

Me too. I use it ESPECIALLY for loosening ****** pan bolts when they're extremely tight and a 3/8" impact may just break them. Especially on Ford transaxles where they're prone to breaking; more specifically AX4N/S's.

I'm kinda leery of using impacts on small fasteners that have been kept dry and tight for a long periods of time. Sometimes if you loosen them too fast (which would be the case with an impact) you can peel the threads right off the fastener or the threaded hole the fastener is in.

So what do you think of the new FLHTK with the factory 103? I want one so bad I can just about taste it!

If for some reason you need to use it in the middle of the night, those Harley's will wake up your neighbors. You definitely can't be stealthy with those things. :shocking:

At this time last year I was trying to sell our sales manager on putting 103" engines in all our touring bikes. It really doesn't cost much to upgrade from the 96" engine. So to answer your question the 103" engine is the best compromise of price and power for Harley. If you go with the 110" the labor time goes up to 32 hours if I remember correctly.

The only thing my neighbors hear is Metallica, I've dealt with enough obnoxiously loud bikes so my pipes are stock. (for now!!!)

You are correct and I stand corrected, I based my info on the photo in the above posting, I called SK this morning and the tech did advice that they use a pin.

I set My 1/4 " impact on the number 2 setting & install dash screws with it, No problems at all.

To the original poster, what is the purple W on your finger for? Did you vote in the Iraqi election?

To the poster who had to work in a shop while having to listen to Hank Williams III, I feel your pain, having to listen to any hillbilly 'music' is bad enough, and if HW III is as bad as HW jr, who should have been a wet spot on the sheets, you were wise to leave.

And lastly, compare prices, and you will see that Matco is priced higher than Snap on on more than a few items.
