I found the ad on a cl similar type website guy was asking $50. I shot him a txt and right away went to pick it up. I saw it and wasnt impressed at all. Guy said he had just closed down his shop and his movers had just left the box sitting outside it had been sitting for 2 weeks luckily so mother nature hadnt just done hers with it yet and none of the drawers were rusted through either. Its does need paint and a some work but if you check my other resto threads i really enjoy do it so no big deal. The plus was that it came full of tools from sockets, wrenchs, taps and dies, and a lot more i havent gone through them yet but i did see a lot of craftsman, thorsen, blackhawk, and as always a lot of taiwan stuff too. I Paid the $50, I'll be posting pictures shortly

That looks like more than 2 weeks worth of neglect, but you got a deal. And those older Matco boxes are hell for stout. If you restore it, I think I have a nice used Matco badge for the front.

There are a couple threads on hear about electrolysis. You should look into it if you want to restore it, it could save you a lot of time.

I think that's still a good deal and with a little work you'll have a nice box. Look forward to seeing the restoration pictures.
