Friend of mine was hard up for cash and asked me if I wanted to buy his basically never used matco service cart. Its apparently some sorta limited edition with a giant bear sticker on the lid. So wth I gave him 100 bucks, he needs it and Im happy the cart is going home with me and so is he.

Looks like this one: https://www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/SP8230BK/BLK-SERVICE-CART-W-LID-DRAWER/

Apparently he stated you could add more drawers to it, it currently has just one. Looking on matcos site they sell drawers separately, the rails have no provision for bolting them on however EXCEPT 1 set of holes below the current drawer. Appears the current drawer is literally held in by 4 bolts?

I found this on matcos site: https://www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/SP823DBK/LOCKING-3-DRWR-F-SP8230BK/

Would very much like to have more than 1 drawer on this thing.

i'd be willing to bet the drawer sections are bolted together top to bottom as well as being secured to the frame

That is most likely a rebadged sunex cart. in addition to the smaller drawer unit linked, you can get single full width drawers too. They bolt to to bottom of the drawer above them. The carts probably aren't meant to have more than 2-3. Because they're on the narrow side, they're prone to tipping if overloaded with drawers fully open. before today's larger carts came along, they were pretty popular.

I think your right, looks like it does bolt together from the top to bottom as well.

Looks like your correct, just googled sunex cart and this is the first one, looks identical to mine. Wonder if I can find the sunex drawers cheaper. matco wants 200 bucks.

Edit: Small update,

Would appear the drawers are STUPID expensive for this thing and sunex only sells a single deep drawer. Meanwhile on their site the show the same cart with the deep single, medium single and 3 drawer setup as well all on the same cart. Found a red cart for less than 250, found the same black cart shipped to my door from ebay for 365. Thats 20 bucks more than just the drawers shipped to me pretty much.

That *****. Im sure if I can find a matco guy they arent gonna be able to get them much cheaper. I can pretty much buy an entire cart and either keep it or take the drawers off and put it on the matco one, sell it or sell the matco one...

Well thats a bummer.

There is always the HF red cart for 180 tho..

Well that's disappointing, I have the same cart and was hoping that I'd be able to add drawers to it...a new drawer would cost me $28 more than I paid for the cart!

Yep after some more searching I found I can get the 3 drawer set for like 180 and the larger bottom drawer for about 80. Not worth it.

Reality is the only thing that makes this cart even remotely more valuable than a standard one is some matco graphics on it. Even then Im shocked my buddy paid 300 bucks for it (or so he says).

Agreed, I'd trade mine for the $100 HF cart in a heartbeat.

Welp I emailed sunex, lets see if the 3 drawer unit is available by itself.
