Matco silver viein finish?

Anybody have a Matco toolbox with what they call a silver vein finish. I can not find any good photo of it. Is it paint or powdercoat?

hello.......is this thing on, tap, tap..........i'm not sure if it's paint or powder coat, but i'll check. it's like a krinkle finnish, not supposed to show fingerprints. i looked at one before i ordered mine but i like the reagular shiney finnish a can wax.

That sounds right.

I called them in New York where I think they actually make them and I was told the silver vein is powder coated they just add some other product that causes it to have a wrinkled finish.

I too prefer the regular shiny finish but since I will only buy one used I will have to put color and finish low on the priority list. I have to go with the best deal. It's kind of like when you buy a used car you just can not expect that the car will be your favorite color.

If it's anything like the Kennedy brown wrinkle, it will show every single little ding or dent. The shiny surfaces hind dents much better. Just throwing that out there for you to consider.
