Anybody have experience with them? Or know who the OEM is?

I'd like to stick with a hard plastic socket rail with clips - not a big fan of metal nor of the try type holders. Other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Craftsman and lowes also carry those on their brand. They are very nice and I like them, nicer than Ernst rails or any other metal clip rails. It can be expensive though.

I love my matco plastic rails. I also found that harbor freight sells some very similar ones that are like 3 for a dollar. As far as I can tell they are almost identical.

Yeah they are. If you're after the full-length ones, just grab them from Sears. Usually if I need one, or some of the studs, I'll just buy the 3-pack (3 rails and 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 studs) for $10-12.

I bought the Matco ones because I wanted a few of the shorter ones for my hex/torx bit sockets. Like $8 for one shorter rail, with no studs. :scared:

The ones at Lowes are almost identical, but a little different looking, I haven't tried using the other studs on that one to see if they'll work together. But for $10 for one loaded with SAE hex bit sockets, I'm not gonna complain.

Modern Lowes studs (China) are not interchangeable with Craftsman studs but original USA made Lowes studs are interchangeable. The Craftsman are USA made.

Yes, they are made by VIM for a number of USA manufacturers including Wright, Matco, SK, and Craftsman.

IMO they are the best plastic rails out there. HF makes ones very similar, but the studs are a harder plastic and can be a ***** to get sockets off of. The rails are also more flimsy than the VIM versions.

Here are my sockets on the cheapy HF rails, just for comparison. They've been working great for me so far, although I'm sure they are not the same quality as the Matco rails but then again they are only $3.50 for 3.

Those plastic rails do look nice but I do prefer the stability of the vim magrails but they are a bit pricier than the plastic ones

Thanks for all the info guys. The nice thing about the Matco is that you can get the different sizes and colors. I'm not seeing that with VIM.

Nepros makes the best socket holders.

Problem I have found with the hf ones is the clips/studs seem to randomly break but they are super cheap
