Matco Tool Box Drawer Glides

Looking to replace a few of the bearing balls in my drawer glides in a late 90's triple bank tool box. Does anyone know what size they are? If I had the box near me, I could either measure it with dial caliper, or by simply using a drill bit guide, but this box is a couple hundred miles away at my lake house, and I was wanting to redo and clean up the drawer glides.

I messed up the drawer slides on a cobalt tool box I basically dropped trying to load it onto a truck, loaded. (The toolbox, not me). I went to the big box store and got drawer slides-nice ball bearing kind. Back home, removed the damaged **** and riveted the new ones in place. Smoothest drawer in the whole toolbox.

I just replaced all the ball bearing slides in an early 90's production top and bottom set. Matco customer service was pleasant and easy to deal with. I called, then sent photos of the model/serial number stickers and the deteriorated rubber stops that hold the drawers close when it's not locked.

The first replacements for the top box arrived in less than a week, six slides as only the full width drawers had bearing slides. The bottom box apparently required a "management review" as I requested replacement of all the slides, 18 slides for eight drawers. They arrived a week later. It was fully paid, no shipping or anything.

They fit well, but I did have to move the hole for the tiny little screw that keeps the slides from sliding out of the mounting slots.

I’m having slider issues on my model MB7535. Do they only warranty toolboxes for the original owner? How would they even know who the original owner is? Mine has a plate attached to the front stating that it was custom built for so-and-so, but I can’t imagine they would still have that info for a box built in ‘98. Or would they? I know I’ve seen several people on GJ with the same issue, so Matco is surely aware.

I can't imagine that they have that sort of record keeping. As I purchased it in the early 90's, I had long since lost any paperwork. I'd have been screwed if I had to prove I was the original purchaser. Like I said, no issues, and very easy to deal with Matco's customer service.

We have a Snap On set at work that belongs to the Office that was purchased used from the local dealer and have had no issues warrantying the drawer slides on it.

i have a 90's era Matco box. I co-worker gave me a **** ton of drawer slides. As it turns out, cleaning out the old grease and re-greasing it is really all it really needed.

When I called on my MB8535, they asked if I was the original owner, which I answered no, but the rep didn't say anything else about it. Maybe it would have come up again if they actually had slides available, though.
