New to me Matco MB8525. Paid $1100. Lurked on board for a while and think I picked the box up for a good price. It will replace a Kennedy 297 with an 8 drawer Craftsman machinist top and a small Mac Tools side box.

That is a damn nice box! Welcome to the forum! Decent price too. Can't beat that!

I believe the 8 series is their top of the line so that is a hell of a price for all that quality and storage.

I’m looking at one of these and having trouble finding info about it. Mainly looking for what the slides are rated and how much it weighs. For $1000 with a stainless top I’m pretty sure I’ll pick it up either way

Buy with confidence, the one I had was strong enough that you stand on the bottom drawer without any damage.

I’m pretty sure that’s what a guy I worked with had and his was a tank. I’m not that familiar with the older models though.

older models are proper stout built so if tidy and slide good act quick .
equal or better than krl .
I run 3 7525 and one 8535 in my shop as hunted them used as needed expand or as found good deal .
few years back they always good deal (especially 2 bay boxes) as used box sales not so quick and easy without mass online sale platforms and matco had less brand appeal .
only real issue is slide replacements hard get so check slides good and keep eye out for a set or 2 to keep on the shelf .

This one is from 2005. Any idea how heavy it is with the drawers removed? My friend that would be moving it doesn’t want to use his trailer for some reason
Around here we have 4 snap on guys. Matco has 2 routes but drivers come and go. There’s a mac guy that doesn’t service many shops and no cornwell in town. That’s pretty much been the order of how well a box holds its value. You can usually get a nice macsimizer for less than a classic 78
