Hi folks. Husband recently passed. Have researched and found a lot of info from this site but now need help. Can you give me an idea of a fair price for this set up. Missing keys and left side handle from bottom box.

I would put it up for $500 and take as low as $400. That won't have value to everyone, but you'll find the right buyer.

btw, there is only going to be one handle on the bottom box, it can be put on either side.

Hi Rainforest, sorry to hear about your husband.

Anyway, yeah, I'd think it'll sell for $500 for the boxes. Heck, if I was in the market (and in Colorado) I would grab it for that. IF you got a can of car wax and cleaned / polished it up you might get more, tho it has some dings and a couple rust spots... but cleaned and shiny will help. If thre are tools iniside, you might want to separate those out, or sell it as a complete set, tho doing that you'll lose money in the deal.

I have a really similar Craftsman set up (26" wide) that I put new casters on (because the old ones were tiny and really old and weren't really designed to be moved like I needed them to move) and use it as my job box. These tall & narrow sets, I found, are ideal for this, especially around a shop environment where I need more than a taco cart. I can move mine from bay to bay as I need... so yeah. Plus it's a Matco, so even though it's older, it'll hold up. Plus it has the middle section of drawers, so whoever gets it will have a good assortment of tool space at her (or his) fingertips.

Thank you all for the responses. Yes tools are all out, that took a while. I have been doing a lot of research here on many of the old tools. Some were his fathers. You are all very knowledgeable so hope you dont mind the questions.

Tell me why do you guys save broken ones and nuts and bolts? lol. Have to tell a quick little story on that. My husband worked beside his best friend for years, so having all these old air tools and such (I knew very little about any of them) I was sending him pictures and saying what is this? He would respond. Well I had these two bar type item with a notch on the side. His response was scrap metal. I was very surprised. He says, "They are pins that he used for punches" Needless to say that are in the scrap metal pile.

Will see if I can shine it up a bit, can use everything I can get these days.

Thanks again.
