Matco usa made floor jack!

I wanted to share this Matco usa made 2.5 ton Floor jack i picked up at a estate sale a few weeks back. It was marked $125 but it was the second day of the sale so they were doing deals. I tested it and it didn't work so i asked what price can they do for a non working jack and they went $50 which i thought was very fair for a non working usa made jack. Before i bought it another worker saw me looking at it and i told him it was broken and he said it is probably just stuck. He ended up getting it to work and it goes up and down just fine. So i scored a Matco usa made floor jack that works for $50.

Now i wanted to see how i can clean it up a little without taking it completely apart. It is pretty rusty from sitting in a garage for years without being used. Also i wanted to see if anyone knows who made these jacks for Matco? Thanks guys!

Probably made by Hein Werner. I think they are the only US manufacturer of automotive jacks since the 1960s.

Ehhh... I believe that to be from a era where there was a little bit of fudging going on in regards to Made and Assembled in the USA. I dig the Matco embossed Saddle, I've never seen one before, if I was guessing I would say it was marketed under the later Lincoln years. It's definitely not a USA designed Jack, as far as just cleaning it up, I would definitely schedule a re-seal into its near future. The Import tutorial guide will be a good place to start in regards to understanding your jacks components.
