Matco vs. Astro Radiator test kit....

Does the Matco kit include the 3 adaptors that I hear the Astro does not? I can get the Matco kit for 50 bucks more than the Astro, anyone know what the cost of those 3 adaptors? I'm also guessing the Matco is made by Astro.....

It kind of looks like it does. The Matco has 19 and Astro has 17 unless you purchase the 3 extra. They're like $20 apiece.

If I could get the Matco for only $50 more I would since the adapters are aluminum vs plastic on the Astro. I think the Matco is the same as the mastercool 43301.

Definitely looks like the mastercool. They've all gotta be made in the same place just with different specs.

I noticed the tops were different, no brainer if the Matco is aluminum!

Mastercool it almost certainly is, the instruction manuals match up perfectly. Thanks for the info!

hahaha At that price buy 3 so you'll have lots of spares and read the manual so you can 'support' yourself.

Who designed it - no one knows. It's not a rocket science kind of design. It could be a European design they make, for example, that Astro sells in the US. Don't be a tools snob and claim "theft".

The larger question is: which kit contains all of the adapters?

Not really concerned about "support". We just had to rent one of these a couple days ago. If we elect to buy one, I want to make sure it's got all the stuff in it that might be needed.

Most of these companies buy from the OEM in China or Taiwan and do not design or build in house. Aliexpress cuts out the middle man. I'd guarantee Astro just rebrands that same kit and marks it up.

At $90 shipping is the savings really THAT much? I'd much rather get the mastercool set instead of the aliexpress special.

Matco has a 10% sale for student accounts through March, made the choice easier.

So you're saying that it's OK for a US company to buy and Resell Taiwan, but not a Chinese company to resell Taiwan stuff. I think my head is going to explode figuring this out.

It ships from China. Why would you assume it's made in Taiwan?
