Here is the muscle cart. It is currently only offered in blue or black. As you can see there are 2 drawers, but, there are slots to add more. As of this time Matco has not released information as to when additional colors & drawers will be available. I suspect they will tell us at Expo next month.

I'm sorry some of the pics are not too good. I took them all with the same camera at the same time.

Front view with the doors completely open.

Cowl induction lid. The lid has quick release struts & allows the lid to be folded completely back & out of the way. There is a lid bumper to prevent damage.

Bottom side of lid. The 2 magnet bars are included & are strong.

The socket/can tray actually comes with the cart & has a dedicated spot in the front of the cart next to the lock assembly.

Side views with the doors open. Notice the bungee cords for holding tools.

I can measure it when I get home. What version of the MSC11 are you wanting to compare it to? By the time you add the 2 optional tops it gets pretty tall.

The current lid is the only way it comes. So far, my guys either love it or hate it. If it was red, I would have sold 2 yesterday.

It looks awesome, and would look great in my garage, but $900 is a tad steep. I think my wife would shoot me in my sleep. :D

I like it, and I'm a sucker for the color blue....but I agree $900 is a tad steep for a cart for me.

Yes, the doors open & store flat against the sides.

Looks like a well thought out cart with some nice touches. Blue is good, a nice change from red.

We have no pricing or release date on extra drawers or release date on additional colors yet. I am guessing that they will tell us next month at Expo.

Thanks for posting that. Looks like they came up with an inovative design with a lot of cool features. Then they completely mucked it up with that cowl thing. I hope the come out with a toned down unit.

Tell us please about how the drawers work. Are there friction detents? Some other way of keeping them from opening accidentally?

I just got a black one from my Matco guy Friday.

First impressions,

I prefer not to mount the sticker. It says "Muscle cart 440" and it's a little too much for me personally so it went into the bottom of the cart.

The "cowl" everyone is talking about isn't really a "cowl" it's just a couple of stickers I think on the lid that look like stripes. The lid seems flat to me. One thing about the strips that bothers me is that they aren't painted on and clear coated. They are kinda flat looking when you look at the lid compared to the paint and it attracts greasy marks from fingers or whatever super fast. I'm scared to clean it with anything fearing it will ruin it.

The little organizer on the inside seems out of place to me in the front. The whole thing seems cheap and doesn't really hold sockets good or seem useful to me. Matco could have spend a little more time on this part IMO. Magnets in the holder would have been nice or steel rods that are like the hanson trays would have been nice like Montezuma's boxes have.

The bungee things on the inside of the doors are cheesy too IMO. I don't get what they are suppose to hold. The good part is the inside is peg board style so hooks on the bottoms will be what I'm adding to make it hold tools better.

Matco gives you a cheap plastic Matco emblem with these small magnets on the backside for holding you RO's or papers on the inside of the lid. I had two RO's stapled together and it wouldn't hold them. Nice. I have a cheap magnet from a ****** pan that works better for free.

The bar magnets on the inside of the lid ****. They are beefy but if you add too many tools they slide down the inside of the lid and everything falls off. Stupid.

They could have gave you another drawer for the price tag IMO.

I've only had it two days in service so that's really the only things I don't like about it. I think if I somehow glue or bolt the bar magnets to the inside lid I'll solve one of the problems I don't like. The stripe stickers I may just remove to make the cart look less "muscle car like". I may remove the plastic organizer and put in Hanson socket holders or something else OR add magnets to the bottom to hold the sockets securely.

I hate to point out all the things I don't like about it and not say anything good so I will say I like locking the lid and doors and walking away at clock out time. The prybars and long screwdrivers fit on both sides and are fully enclosed unlike other carts which show the ends hanging when locked up. Kinda makes it look cleaner. It has PLENTLY of room and the two drawers are nice. I have my most used tools for services in the upper part and air tools in the bigger drawers. I also bought the Matco 1/4 cordless ratchet, 1/2 cordless impact and the 3/8 cordless impact to go with the little cordless driver I bought a couple weeks ago and they all go in the bottom drawer nicely.

That is kind of lame. For the money they charge for these carts I would expect the strips to be actually painted and not some vinyl sticker.

Yeah at $899 this cart seems cheap for the money to me. I like it but I'm having a hard time justifying the price.

The cowl on the one in my truck is not flat, it has about 3/4 in rise as seen in the pics. For the bungee cords, attach tools just like they are hung from the ceiling of the tool truck. I don't know the exact purpose for the magnets other than a killer paperweight or hanging a a light under a car. I agree, throw the sticker away.

To those that think $900 is steep for this cart, price a MSC11 with a lid (MSC11LA)& a bottom storage cabinet (MSC11CAB). You're looking at $1475. You'll have 1 extra drawer, The lid storage area will not be as deep, & IMHO the bottom cabinet is just funky. When they do come out with additional drawers, they will be cheaper than the $575 difference between the 2 carts.

Yeah I think the lid is raised slightly I haven't really took a good look since I've been swamped lately at work.
I don't mean to beat the cart up and I know you sell these but some things bother me about it. Seriously that plastic tray was one reason I wanted to buy it and the damn sockets don't even stay in the holes because they aren't deep enough. Some holes aren't molded very good and sockets don't fit. It's annoying. I'm going to get some magnets and glue them to the bottom to hold the sockets better.
I also forgot to mention on the right side inside where the prybars go the paint has a huge spot that's missing paint. How did that pass OC?
Those magnets are a great idea. A co-worker bolted some HF bar magnets on the bottom of his lid on his old Matco cart and he hangs a full set of wrenches and other stuff on his.
I think I had about 5 MAC long box end wrenches on mine and a couple of pliers and a couple things like a ruler and tire thread measurer thingy and the magnets slide down the inside lid when I walked away. I'm gonna secure them so they actually hold stuff.
The bungie thing is a nice idea but I'm not selling my tools and I don't see why anyone would store them in bungies.
They should have asked some real techs for advice before bringing it to market. Some stuff is a good idea but it fell short IMO.
If anyone has a good idea for holding the bar magnets without drilling the lid I'm all ears.

They do hold focus group meetings.

As far as the depth of the socket holdser, I'm sure there was a comprobise of some sort. You could glue magnets to the underside.

They should have asked me...I went to the local ChiCom tool store and got some cheap magnets and a peg board clip set so I can actually hang stuff off the doors. I need to figure a way to hold those magnet bars to the lid better so they don't slide.

If anyone is interested I'll take pictures of what I do with it tomorrow. I'm going in early to clean up my area and drain my oil drainers, etc.. and I plan to mess with it, clean and wax it so it's ready to go when I clock in.

Is this being made by MATCO? Or is it sourced? My MATCO man hasn't been here since Dave's post.

To the best of my knowledge, it is a sourced item. I believe that Professional Tool Products is making it for us.

If anyone is wondering, the Red one will have black stripes. I got a poster last night with the picture on it. I called CS & was told they were releasing it next month at Expo.
